Betty White has confirmed that she’ll appear on Saturday Night Live, according to People. While attending Elton John’s Oscar viewing party, the magazine asked White, “Are you doing Saturday Night Live?,” and the actress said, “Yes.” But White did not offer up any further details. Neither White’s agent or a rep for SNL could confirm White’s statements. The Golden Girls star has been the subject of a growing online campaign to get the legend to host SNL.

too late. Her resurgence is based on a Snickers commercial, and the extra 15 minutes are over unfortunately. She won’t even be the host really, as her age prevents her from the workload of a regular host, according to Lorne Michaels.
Have you been under a rock? Her “resurgence” isn’t merely from some Super Bowl ad. There’s a whole generation of us that grew up watching Betty White on “The Golden Girls” who still watch the reruns today and think she’s HILARIOUS. Not to mention all the other films she’s been in. That ad was merely the icing on the cake for all of us fans. And that fact that she is going to be on SNL is amazing. This isn’t a simple 15 minutes of fame for Betty White, she’s had the spotlight for some time when it comes to women in comedy.

Fer Serious? A Snickers commercial is the cause of her resurgence??? Pay attention people, this lady has been playing in film and tv, flying under the radar with her amazing performances and comedic timing, since before most of you were even born! I find it soooooo amusing when people think that when THEY hear about it or see it, that’s when something started. Yeesh!
I think the Snickers commercial was the capper on a prominent year for Betty. What with her standout role in The Proposal and all her late night appearances with the likes of Chelsea Handler and beer pong with Jimmy Fallon, etc., etc. Don’t see people on here acting all oblivious to her earlier accomplishments in her career though so not quite sure what you’r referring to.
And by year I mean 12 months btw. Totally realize the commercial is from 2010 and everything else is 2009.
I’ve loved Betty White since i was a little girl and watched reruns of the Golden Girls on tv. In fact my DVR has at least 5 golden girls episodes on it right now! Betty White and The other girls will live on forever! I’m glad they finally listened to the viewers and will let her at least do a skit on SNL. She is hilarious!
Is she going to be on SNL or not? It might be just old news. Betty said she is going to be on SNL last Sunday night. Someone from SNL are not making any comment.
