According to The Hollywood Reporter, Scott Caan has been cast as Danny “Danno” Williams in CBS’ updated version of Hawaii Five-O. Written and produced by Star Trek scribes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci and CSI: NY exec-producer Peter Lenkov, the new series follows an elite branch of the Hawaii State Police, headed by Steve McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin). Caan’s character is a recently divorced New Jersey cop who transferred to Hawaii to be near his 7-year-old daughter.

“Danno” will apparently not be reaching for things on the top shelf at police headquarters.
Neither did James Mcarthur, he is 5 foot 7 at best.
Scott doesn’t look right for the role of Danno.
This is an obvious fall schedule contender. Expect a pick up.
Not surprised at all , Hollywood is creatively bankrupt they can’t come up with any new ideas. This is why they have to clone the same show 10 times, next we will have “Hawaii Five-O, New York” then “Hawaii Five-O, Miami”and on …. oh but wait then there is the “Hawaii Five-O,Special Victims Unit”…
I hate it on these remakes when they make these guys 20 years younger than the originals. Alex O’Loughlin could not hold Jack Lord’s jock. This will be an epic fail.
Y’know, I love the original. But I guess I don’t have as strong a feeling about tv remake as opposed to movie remakes. Maybe because I loved those shows when they were on but now if one is on a cable channel I might wath it but I don’t go out of my way to see them. whereas a classic movie, to me is timeless, so if a person wants to see Psycho, or even Arthur, it’s pretty easy to watch the original and they were done pretty well so I see no need for a remake. TV series, well they gotta put something in that time slot, so if they wanna re-do hawaii 5-o or Rockford, I’ll keep my fingers crssed, hope it’s good, and just be thankful it’s not another reality show.
I guess everyone will be able to say “Book ‘em Danno” again.
So, I’m actually excited about this now. Sorry everyone else is down on it. I’ll watch.
This is exciting news, with the talented, sexy and charming Alex O’Loughlin in the lead Hawaii 5-0 will be a hit,the whole cast is awesome too!
I think the entire cast of this Hawaii 5-0 remake is awesome, and Alex O’Loughlin is not only gorgeous, charismatic and totally sexy, he is very talented and can play any role to perfection!!!
Alex O’Loughlin is a brilliant actor and perfect for the lead in Hawaii 5-0. I can’t wait to see this show and for The Back-Up Plan in theaters 4/23.
What I want to know is, will Scott be wearing those tight pants like the original did ?
