Ratings: Last week's top 10 shows an all Olympics and 'Idol' affair

It’s certainly no shocker, but the broadcast ratings for the seven-day period ending Feb. 28 are in, and the second, and final, week of the Winter Olympics—specifically, the Friday night airing, which drew 24.5 million viewers—was the big winner. Arriving at No. 2 and No. 3 were the Tuesday and Wednesday episodes of Fox’s American Idol, which drew 24.2 million and 23.0 million viewers, respectively. Indeed, the week’s top 10 shows were all Olympics or American Idol, from the No. 4 airing of the Thursday Olympics, which drew 22.9 million viewers, down to No. 10, a tie between Thursday evening airing of the results episode of American Idol, which nabbed 18.0 million viewers, and the Winter Olympics wrap-up on Sunday, Vancouver Gold.

The rest of the week’s top 20 included the usual suspects from No. 12 Undercover Boss (15.2 million viewers) and new show debut, No. 13 The Marriage Ref (14.4 million viewers), down to the latest episode of ABC’s Lost, which popped up at No. 20 with 9.9 million viewers. The full top 20—complete with viewership totals—is after the jump.

Of course it was just the Olympics and Idol — those were the things on! Who wants to see reruns on a sweeps month? And the networks are wondering why they’re losing viewers.
