Due to a strict set of rules for TV ads that air during the Academy Awards telecast, Hyundai will replace the voice of Oscar nominee/auto pitchman Jeff Bridges on March 7. According to Advertising Age, the auto company was planning to broadcast seven TV spots during the glitzy ceremony on ABC before it was informed that the ads were unfit to air since the Crazy Heart actor was a Best Actor nominee on the show. So Hyundai decided to keep the ads, but enlist a handful of other celebrities to read the voiceover copy. The substitute salesmen (and women) will be: Kim Basinger, Richard Dreyfuss, David Duchovny, Catherine Keener, Michael Madsen, Mandy Patinkin, and Martin Sheen.

Kim Basinger is still considered a celebrity?
She’s more famous than you
What Kelly is great, don’t be so mean.
well, to be fair, are any of these people still considered celebrities? Not that I don’t love them, but. .
Why? The voting is done — this won’t influence anything.
Celebrity? Perhaps not A-list today. But she’s an Oscar-winner and a lot of movie fans know who she is.
I love to guess who does the VO on a lot of commercials (which I only watch during live shows, thanks DVR), so I’m all for this.
stupid. what a waste of money.
Seriously? What does the ad have anything to do with the ceremony? Voting is done.
Why couldn’t they get Billy Fucillo to do the ads? It would be HUUUGGGE!
That is doucheness, this has no effect on who wins the oscars. Change these outdated rules.
Sheesh, that’s no good even if it’s one that is about your class with useful hints and tips!!!Still, Edublogs alwols you to make your blog completely private if you like.
