Bass player Tom “T-Bone” Wolk, 58, best known for his work with Hall and Oates, died Sunday in New York City. “To say that I am shocked is the ultimate understatement,” said Daryl Hall in a statement on the band’s official website. “T-Bone was my musical brother and losing him is like losing my right hand.” A statement from John Oates echoed the sentiment: “I… know in my heart that starting today the Heavenly Band just got one of the greatest multi-instrumentalists of all time and that band will from this day forward sound better than they ever have before.” Wolk’s work as a session musician also appears on recordings by artists like Bette Midler, Billy Joel, Avril Lavigne and Elvis Costello.

One heck of a great musician. Sad to hear this happened.
Did T-Bone Wolk play in the band on SNL in the ’70s & ’80s? And was he married to Gilda Ratner for a short time? Or am I thinking of someone else?
Just went on “The Huffington Report” and found out I was thinking of G.E. Smith who played in the band on SNL and was married to Gilda Radner for a short time.
Not T-Bone Wolk. RIP
T-Bone played in the SNL band with Smith, who also played with Hall & Oates.
Will they be canceling their tour?
RIP
