Angelina Jolie and Darren Aronofsky are in talks to, respectively, star in and direct a feature film adaptation of Serena: A Novel, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The 2008 novel by Ron Rash deals with a businessman and his wife in North Carolina in 1929. Chris Kyle (K-19: The Widowmaker) has adapted the novel into a script.

Didn’t she make a big hoopala about taking an acting break for the sake of her family? Hypocrite
True, but come on, what actor or actress has ever really ‘taken a break’? That WAS a hypocritical statement, but consistent in Hollywood…
Oh please, it could take a couple of years for that movie to get made. Taking a break doesn’t mean retirement. I think she does like one movie a year. If you had the option of working only three months out of a year wouldn’t you do it?
It didn’t say when this would film and Angelina said she and Brad would never film at the same time. They take turns so one of them is with the kids at all times.
Although I wasn’t a fan of the book, I think this is great casting. Hopefully, the movie will be better!
