Paul Greengrass, director of The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum, is in negotiations to helm a 3-D remake of the 1966 sci-fi classic Fantastic Voyage, according to Variety. James Cameron is producing through his company Lightstorm Entertainment, and the production will use the same 3-D filmmaking technology that Cameron pioneered in his mega-blockbuster Avatar. The storyline will reportedly mirror the original Fantastic Voyage, about a scientist whose dire health can only be treated by five people miniaturized inside a specialized submarine and injected into the man’s body. The original film won an Oscar for its then-cutting-edge visual effects.

NBC's 'Law & Order' may take 21st season to TNT

Categories: Television, TV Biz

NBC’s Law & Order could reach a record-breaking 21st season if renewed, but, according to The Hollywood Reporter, TNT, not the Peacock network, may be the one to usher in the 21st installment. (If it reaches 21 seasons, the show would be the longest-running drama series on television, besting a 20-season record held by Gunsmoke.) The crime series has enjoyed heavy syndication on TNT, but the network is reportedly not obligated to continue airing the show past its current season, while NBC is allegedly not allowed to take Law & Order to another network. The possible renewal comes on the heels of low ratings and cost issues that have posed a difficult situation for NBC. If the series heads to TNT, the network’s license fee could reportedly offset some of the costs.
