Sony is launching the first reality show that will be available exclusively to PlayStation 3 and PSP owners. Variety reports that The Tester will feature contestants competing for the opportunity to become a video-game tester. Shows will last about 20 minutes, and the first of eight weekly episodes will become available on the PlayStation Network beginning Feb. 18.

Madonna, who showcased many of Alexander McQueen‘s most spectacular creations over the years, released a comment about the late fashion designer, who was found dead in his London home yesterday of an apparent suicide. Her statement reads: “Lee McQueen was a truly unique visionary in the world of fashion. A creator of beauty. What a tragedy.”

Jeffrey Dean Morgan committed to 'The Unblinking Eye'
Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen) has joined The Unblinking Eye, a psychological thriller about a retired homicide detective (Morgan) who’s contacted by a persistent journalist, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film is scheduled to start shooting in May and will be directed by Michael Bassett (Solomon Kane).
John C. Reilly on board for 'We Need to Talk About Kevin'
John C. Reilly has joined the cast of We Need to Talk About Kevin, according to Variety. Reilly will play the dad of a 15-year-old boy who goes on a killing rampage. Tilda Swinton has been cast as the boy’s mother. British filmmaker Lynne Ramsay (Morvern Callar) will direct and write, and Steven Soderbergh will serve as the film’s executive producer.
'Sherlock Holmes' producer preps 'Three Musketeers' movie
Sherlock Holmes producer and co-writer Lionel Wigram has hired screenwriter Peter Straughan (The Men Who Stare at Goats) to write a new movie based on Alexandre Dumas’ The Three Musketeers, according to Variety. Like last year’s Holmes, the film will update the 17th-century adventure tale for modern audiences by emphasizing the classic novel’s action and sexier moments. No director or actors have been announced yet.
Colin Firth signs up for 'The Promised Land'
Colin Firth (a current best actor Oscar nominee for A Single Man) and Matthew Macfadyen (Frost/Nixon) have joined the political crime thriller The Promised Land, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film, about the lead up to the 1948 partition of Palestine and the creation of the state of Israel, stars Jim Sturgess (Across the Universe) and will be directed by Michael Winterbottom (A Mighty Heart). Both Firth and Macfadyen have previously played Mr. Darcy in different adaptations of Pride and Prejudice.
'Secret of Kells' to open in New York on Oscar weekend
The Secret of Kells, the surprise Oscar nominee for Best Animated Feature, will start its theatrical run March 5 (Oscar weekend) at New York’s IFC Center. Distributor GKIDS will launch the film in Boston on March 19 (timed to St. Patrick’s Day), followed by an expansion April 2 to cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Chicago.

Alexander McQueen’s Twitter stream has been deleted, but his missives cached on Google (and excerpted below) indicate that the 40-year-old designer was in a dark state of mind in the days leading up to his untimely death, including a Tweet on Feb. 3 in which he told his followers that his mother had died.
