Alec Baldwin: Official explains brief hospital stay

Categories: Television

Alec Baldwin’s recent hospitalization “misunderstanding” stemmed from a phone conversation between the actor and his 14-year-old daughter, according to a law enforcement official who spoke to the Associated Press anonymously. The official said that Baldwin’s teenage daughter, Ireland, called 911 after she told authorities that her father had told her, “I’m tired of this. I’m going to take some pills. I’m going to end this.” Medical authorities went to Baldwin’s Manhattan home, and he was briefly hospitalized, but he had consumed no pills or alcohol, according to Baldwin’s spokesman Matthew Hiltzik. “This was a misunderstanding on one person’s part. Alec was quickly released from the hospital; he’s completely fine,” Hiltzik told EW in a statement on Thursday.
