TROLL ALERT! TROLL ALERT!
Wow reeeally. shut up.
Deppression is a serious illness. As someone who has suffer from it through out my life I can understand why some feel the need to end their life. But that is not the answer. I am sorry to hear about this, and I am sorry every time someone commits suicide. I have felt like doing that too but I stop and think, and I am also gratful to have love ones that care and help me through things. I guess what I’m trying to say is don’t give up hope, just for the love of anything that matters, keep trying and find help
It’s tragic that they choose a permanent solution to what is usually a temporary problem. Suicide is NOT painless for those left behind.
You’re an idiot.
I meant to say I really hope you do NOT experience depression (that must have been a Freudian slip). It’s horrible to go through, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
I feel like I knew him. My heart goes out to his parents and sister.
Get over it. Depression is just for the weak. Sometimes it gets tuff, it can get incredibly difficult, but deal with it. I am so tired of hearing people whine about depression. Make better decisions in your life and when you screw-up find a way to fix it or make the situation better, but going through a “depression” is just the easy way out.
Apparently you have no idea what you’re talking about. Depression can be caused by low levels of chemicals that work throughout the nervous system. There are many other factors, none of which can just be dealt with. Empathy…look it up.
Sue, everyone wants to use some medical system for everything. I call it taking responsibility, lay off the drugs and alcohol, get over the issues from your childhood, and be a productive person in society. I am tired of people and their excuses. Either grow-up and take responsibility or get outta here – I do not want my tax money to go to the weak.
Depression is a disease. I imagine you would not advise someone with cancer to “grow-up and take responsibility or get outta here”. It is exactly the same thing, and if you don’t realize that then you don’t understand depression.
Depression is not a disease, it’s a mental illness.
Uh, how can you say that mental illness is not a disease?
Fine, dude. You win. You’re smarter and stronger than everyone else.
No Sue, not stronger at all. I just do not let bad things that come my way affect me in a negative way. What are people to do when faced with bad “things?” Curl up in a ball and hope it goes away? If you do not make a stand and make the best out of the time you are here, then why be here? It does not make any sense to me. Why live your life depressed? What good does it do. Either fix the issue or get the issue to a point where it is manageable.
Sean,
It was proven last year that growing up under extreme stress can cause an imbalance in a certain chemical in the brain, which can lead to depression later on in life. So depression can be biological, chemical, and environmental, and one shouldn’t “just have to get over it.” And you clearly do not know what you are talking about.
I had a friend with the same attitude as you towards depression, and he did not reach his 50th birthday. So good luck to you.
So, let me get this correct – if you are not a person who falls into a form of depression, you will not live to be 50???? Well heck, if living a life of constant sorrow will make me live longer, I will stop at 50. Why in the heck would I want to live a large portion of my life in sorrow and feeling sad? Not for me – bring on the beautiful women and fun and I will slide into the coffin at 50 smiling and not lamenting on how horrible my life is / was.
Sean, you are truly a cold, uncaring, inhuman jerk. Perhaps someone you love will become depressed and you will feel differently. I thank God I was not born so cold and cruel. What is it you really hate Sean? It’s not depressed people or the weak. It’s the part of yourself you see in them. How about doing the world a favor and sliding in a bit early?
Much Sympathy to the Koenig family. I’m glad the parents weren’t on LKL last night ’cause they’d be showing their faces over and over again.
God be with you in this time of sorrow, Koenig family…
God have mercy on him. @Eric–if you have no sympathy for him if he committed suicide, you have less reason than anyone to speak in God’s place. Go and learn the meaning of the words “I desire mercy and not sacrifice.” Depression is a mental illness, and the monotheist religious leaders I’ve met always mention mental illness as a mitigating factor in cases of suicide. How luck we are that God judges us, and not our fellow man.
You fools sure like to jump to conclusions.. They dont have a cause of death that I saw, and everybody assumes it was suicide. Lets wait and see what the facts are before we go on a 5 paragraph essay on the pitfalls of depression. It will seem silly if they discover somebody konked him on the head..
Well then I guess Andrew’s father is a fool as well huh??? If you had taken time to actually read the article you would have read that is father said “My son committed suicide”. I know it’s exciting to see your comment in print, but next time be sure you know what you’re talking about before making a colossal fool of yourself.
*”My son took his own life”*
The article as originally posted last night did not have the quotes from Walter Koenig or mention any cause of death.
May he finally find what eluded him in life.
May GOD have mercy on his poor tortured soul.
I was so hoping he would turn up alive. My condolences to his family for their tragic loss.
My sympathies to his family.
Very sad. Sincere condolences to family and friends. Rest in peace, young man.
Like his family is actually reading these posts and seeing everyones condolences. You people are too funny.
and what do you care? so far you’ve tried to discount depression (if you are the same sean) as a serious disease (which it is) and now are mocking people who are just expressing their condolences in a public form. yeah, you’re clearly the winner here.
And you are too sad for words.
