This girl is such an idiot. Doesn’t she know this show is part of the “Liberal Media”? I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Plus, that Family Guy episode was funny!

    • Eli

In what possible way is Secret Life part of the liberal media?

      • Rush

“Secret Life” makes it look cool to be a teen mom.

      • jg

children watch it thats how. the “liberal media” is secretly telling them how to be good citizens, be nice to each other, and recycle. all things that republicans hate doing.

      • bob

can any of you find a better outlet than tv? seriously… who cares…. and use better names than characters from stargate universe…. its embarrising

      • njwunrow

conservatice’s believe in conserving, aka recycling, etc. I am a conservatice and I recycle,

      • JACK

        conservative does not mean conservationist

      • meetsingledoctors

she is a good hot mama

      • Will

        Eli,

        jg was being sarcastic.

Sarah Palin constantly complains about the “liberal media” yet uses the media to gain attention and to help her sell books.
        Like mother like daughter.

      • casprd

conservative doesn’t mean republican either. In most cases what the 21st century republicans are spouting is so far from core conservative values it’s laughable.

      • jb

Any media besides Fox news is deemed liberal by conservatives…duh! It’s Hollywood…evil liberal Hollywood…not real America, like where stupid girl Palin lives.

    • dgh

      *SNARF*

      • Ginny

What does being a conservative have to do with recycling? I am a liberal and I recycle. It goes to my curb EVERY WEEK!!

    • mariaa

I totally agree with you, I wonder if she is going to write a book like her mom….Maybe the title should be:
      How to have sex unprotected!

    • Bobby89

I love family guy but as an educator making fun of the disabled is not funny. Low class comment.

      • metabolism

“as an educator making fun of the disabled is not funny”
        I take it you’re not a grammar educator,then.

      • Steve

Who cares. As adults I think not a single people would openly laugh in a “disabled” persons face. However…jokes…to bad, they probally wont get it anyways..

      • Dax

There has to be an english sentence in there somewhere.^

      • jg

its still funny. the girl that did the voice had down syndrome. who are to tell that girl that it wasn’t funny?

      • Pepper

The girl who did the voice has Down Syndrome and according to her… SHE WAS NOT OFFENDED!
Get a life people. Live and let live, PLEASE!

      • M986

Who cares if you are an educator or not? I’ll give you a sample of an opening sentence you can use instead… AS A CLOSED MINDED HUMAN BEING… come on, it is not polite to make fun of immigrants either; yet I LMAO when I hear comedians making fun of us… FAMILY GUY IS AWESOME!!!

      • RT2

I’m sick of the PC invading every aspect of our lives! What are we allowed to laugh at these days? We all need to lighten up. Laugh at ourselves quit worrying about totally offending everyone.

      • R2D2

Was not about the disabeled, it was a reference to the oh so great Sarah.

      • trancient

The thing about humor is that you can make fun of whatever you want. if you feel making fun of the disabled is not funny then you are probably not a funny person. they make fun of themselves and they make fun of others. get a clue

      • Maureen

Family guy did not make fun of a disabled child, quite the contrary. The girl with downs was samrt bossy and had attitude. Chris ( character) even said “you are just like everybody else, you are not special”

      • merle Balke

The disabled weren’t made fun of. The dig was at Palin.

      • LoveFamilyguy

        @Maureen,

You are so right. Why do people not see that Family Guy was actually promoting equality, in its own way? I loved it when Chris said, “I thought you were different, but you are not. You are like everybody else.”

      • Dora

I guess you didn’t see the episode. No surprise. Some people being offended by the episode didn’t see it just like Palin and the other politically correct right wing nutjobs. The episode was saying that disabled people are people just like everyone else. The line in reference to Palin was about Palin. It wasn’t even a shot her or her children. She’s the “queen of fake outrage” as Bill Maher said. The actress who played the girl has Down Syndrome herself, and she said that Palin carries Trig around like a loaf of French bread to get sympathy and votes. That was spot on!!!!!

      • josh

She does have downs. She said she loved doing it because she enjoyed poking fun at awful Palin. I thought it was liberating for people with downs. Proving that they don’t need to be treated with kid gloves. She was kind of rude and bratty and that’s pretty normal. People with downs are always portrayed as innocent and harmless almost without true emotion. I think it was a huge step forward and a great slap in palin’s face. Bristol is banking on a poor choice by her not using protection and parents by not preparing her to be a teenager. The whole family is laughing all the way to the bank. Shame on the American public for letting them.

    • dgh

Have they found andrew koenig yet

    • bob

i swear if as a species we put the same amount of effort into subjects that really matter, this planet would be so much more exciting and we band together on important subjects instead of who’s daughter is atempting an acting career

      • Pat

Bob…No one asked you to look up an article on entertainment weekly

    • callie

If you think about it, family guy was suggesting that Bristol has Down’s Syndrome. Since the girl in the episode was a teenager.

      • Charlotte

No, obviously they were REALLY talking about Willow.

      • Dora

No they weren’t talking about Bristol or Willow or any of her children. It was just a line, which now that I think about it, doesn’t make sense

      • merle Balke

You only think that if you wallow in conspiracy theories.

    • CK

      You said it! Agreed.

    • Rita

I wonder how funny you would think it was if it were your child.

    • guest

Actually, Family Guy is not that funny. So, if you wanna live your college days for the rest of your life I guess you could continue to think it’s funny.

    • gary

no wonder the country is in the shape its in with liberals like you

      • Dora

LOL it’s your right wing loons that are destroying the country

  • noam

interesting…i guess she doesn’t mind that in season one, they took a jab at her family. (when molly ringwald’s character was looking for a job, the dad said something like “little experience, pregnant teenager, you’re not looking at becoming governor, are you?”)

  • mtrraptor

    Ohhhhhh, I get it…teen pregnancy.

    • Feiss

      shhh…it’s a secret.

  • Rhonda

Maybe it’s me because I’m an educated woman BUT I do not think that Bristol Pain is a role model in any way.

Plus my three daughters (9 -13) think the show is a joke.

    • MK

Palin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in communications-journalism from the University of Idaho, where she also minored in political science. Sarah too, is an educated woman.

      • james

Oh yeah, god knows how difficult it is to major in communications, and a minor in political science is a joke. Fact of the matter is the woman isn’t qualified to run a Burger King.

      • Dr Morris

Having a degree doesn’t make you educated. She got a piece of paper that says she took classes for a certain prescribed number of hours. Her behavior, frank lack of information in the areas in which she claims to speak as an authority, and failure to walk the walk after talking the talk makes her a fool. She laughs and mocks very well….but nothing about her is “educated”.

      • Ororo

And George W. Bush graduated Yale. Ever heard one of his speeches ? I’ll admit that a degree might prove someone technically is “educated”, but degrees don’t prove someone IS intelligent, or prove that someone ISN’T a fool. It certinaly doesn’t make them a role model across the board in my book…

        Just MHO…

      • Allyson

Actually, Sarah Palin attended Hawaii Pacific University in 1982, North Idaho College in 1983, then transferred to University of Idaho in 84 & 85. She then went to Matanuska-Susitna College in the fall of 1985 before finally returning to the University of Idaho in 86 to receive her degree in 87. Looking at that history, I’d say she didn’t have much luck in college!

      • mcDallas

Wow! Had a baby at age seventeen in 2008 and then got a four year degree in two years? Impressive…

      • jpc

Hmmmm, mcDallas said “got a four year degree in two years” started in 1982 and got degree in 1987. My math must be wrong…thougt 87 minus 82 was 5.

      • dave

Yes it took her 4 colleges and 6 years to graduate…very educated

      • Shelley

Have you researched how many colleges she attended, how many changes in majors, how long it took her? A Bachelor’s degree is high “higher education” in today’s society. It’s a bare minimum requirement for employment. Governor? Leader of the Free World? OMG. I can only hope and pray he/she has more than Bachelor’s in anything, much less in communications.

      • Shaun

Actually, a degree is more than just a piece of paper that says she attended a prescribed number of classes. It is verification and proof that she displayed the appropriate amount of competence in the field of study, and completed the required amount of work as to allow her to recieve the degree. It is not a participation award. I know people like to denigrate the accomplishments of people they don’t like (i.e. Bush was just handed a diploma at Yale), but it is quite disingenuous.

      • Virginia S Lowe

4 colleges and 6 years later!

    • Ginny

She isn’t a role model….she makes it look fine to be a teen parent. I mean bravo for having her baby–I admire tht, but a role model? NO!

    • R2D2

Who’s the cat that won’t cop out
when there’s when there’s a state to run
      (Palin!)
      Right on

You see this cat Palin is a bad mother–
      (Shut your mouth)
But I’m talkin’ about Sarah Palin
      (Then we can dig it)
      She’s a complicated woman
but no one understands her but her children…maybe!

  • Beth

The Secret Life has become a complete joke. The acting has gotten horrible and the storylines are even worse. What are they thinking adding Bristol Palin to the mix? Blossom was bad enough.

    • it’s always been that way

no joke, mayim bialik’s character was CRINGEworthy. don’t know if we should blame the actress or the director. i say director bc it’s their job to reign an actor in or to cast the appropriate actor. also, fyi, the show was never that great and many of the “kids” mugged for the camera. the storyline was interesting enough first season, but now, it has gotten completely ridiculous.

  • Choconet

After the first season the writing on this show is ridiculously bad. My daughter and I still watch it, but it’s just to make fun of it. They really don’t address the serious issues in a way that make any sense. The dialogue between characters is choppy and senseless. It’s hard to explain. It’s like their talking to me, but I can’t make out what their saying.

  • Joycehelene

What talent does she have other than to become a teen-age mom?

    • jimmy

How much talent does one normally have at 19? She made a mistake but she’s in school getting an education. I say bravo to her for doing what it takes to overcome a mistake.

  • Irma

That Palin family will do anything to make money, well I won’t watch the show!!

    • megan

Yeah, it would be much better to sit on her butt, get welfare, wick, and food stamps than to work. Spoken like a true democrat.

      • Evie

dumbest comment I heard today, b/c all democrats are on welfare, WIC and food stamps……right?

      • CK

Wick? That’s the string in a candle which holds the flame. I guess you mean WIC? What a silly comment about “true democrat”…what does that even mean, really? You’re probably a tea bagger, arent’ you? Admit it you wingnut.

      • Megan

No just only a democrat would act like making money is a bad thing.

      • mb

No, just only a democrat would think that making money is a bad thing.

      • CK

Doesn’t sound like you have much in the way of anything, so you’re probably a pissed off repub.

      • DandyMay

I thought Decomcrats were supposed to be on an individuals side, more liberal. I think instead of judging this family, you should leave that to God. Your negatively greatly resembles those who are inexperienced and immature.

      • CK

DandyMay, you are dandy delusional! What are you talking about? And what god? Your god or the god of Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, etc? Enlighten us. If there was any god at all, this world wouldn’t be filled with problems. From YOUR comment, it’s perhaps you that is inexperienced and immature…whatever context you’re using them in. Oh please.

      • Jane

Actually, Bristol is sitting on her butt and collecting welfare. Her child gets free health care cause he’s 1/32th Native American.

      • Dora

Another dumb Republican making stuff up. Gee, I thought Democrats were rich elitists. You people are horrible. You should know that Bristol Palin’s son gets free healthcare from the government, you know the death panels. It’s comments like these that make your side look dumb all the time

      • Lala

Megan – Democrats are just as employed as Republicans. They pay the same amount of taxes. There are citizens of all socio-economic levels in both parties. The issue is with how those taxes are spent, not whether making money is a “good or bad thing”. The blanketed, blatantly false statement you made is the epitome why some people think a lot of fiscal conservatives are uneducated and stupid.
And for the record, I’m a Republican.

      • josh

Wick…what a dope. I imagine you were homeschooled right? By your barely literate folks in your little house in Arkansas. Yeah, all dems are on wick and welfare. You’re a joke.

  • IMPEACH OBAMA

FINALLY!! Purity and sweet wholesomeness of the true ruling party appears on television. Not like the criminal One-Termer!! FACT!! Bristol is a goddess and she represents pure wholesome American values. Not like the the kind that makes up the One-Termer.

    • mariaa

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? MORAL, VALUES?
HOW ABOUT ABSTINENCE BEFORE MARRIAGE, LIKE THE GOOD OLD FASHION AMERICAN VALUES?

      • bill

How is that an american value? maybe puritan american…

      • DandyMay

Unfortunately Mariaa, that is part of our society. We should not place a stigma upon teen moms, but embrace them and educate them. It is not about morals or values. Like all things, those too evolve. Which could mean anything…whatever deviation life may take, its important to role with the punches.

      • zzmook

Republicans are against distributing condoms in schools and sex education because good teenagers are abstinent and screw the rest of them. Pun intended, natch.

    • Rush

These are the funniest comments on ew.com. Ever.

      • HA!

        EVER!!!

    • Spooly-T

      Wholesomeness = knocked up teens

    • Evie

Pure and wholesome teens don’t get knocked up as teens. duh!

      • Shelley

As an adoptive mom of 4 newborns who were born to teen moms, I assure you “pure and wholesome teens” do indeed get pregnant. Straight A honors student; active in band, choir and/or art club; cheerleader; and star basketball player. EXACTLY the daughters I’d want to have. And, yep, they got pregnant.

      • CleverShrew

        Shelley,

I believe you. The reason these wholesome teens got knocked up is because the powers that be decided that to educate them about birth control would cause them to go nympho-maniac crazy!! Instead, what happened is they made a bad choice (like many teens do) and didn’t know how to protect themselves, since they were not taught! If they had been educated about responsible sexual practices, most likely they would not have ended up preggers.

    • CK

Are you serious? You’re a twisted freak man!

    • ks

      You are being Scarcasic? right.

    • LOL

      Y’all be gettin’ troll’d

    • daved

Wow. Folks should really pay attention to this comment. It says VOLUMES about the Republican thought process. FACTS are simply a bother for them. I for one applaud Bristol Palin for this. Does ANYONE really think that TV is so important that we give a damn who is on it? I mean really? Bristol is attractive and that is what counts on TV so just let her be. With that said, to refer to her as “Purity and sweet wholesomeness” is stupid in the extreme. And folks wonder why the teabaggers and their ilk are so comfortable with lying. It’s obviously in their nature. Why even bother typing the words when they are so ridiculous? Because there are plenty of others like them out there sitting in their trailers, ignoring facts and chanting stupid thinks like “drill baby drill”. They don’t care that it makes ZERO sense it sounds good. They revel in lies like, “This country was founded on Judeo Christian values”. Again sounds real nice and fuzzy but it just isn’t true. So instead of simply accepting the facts they lie? Is that a Christian value? I guess so, another reason to be an Athiest.

    • Colleen

      Oh My GOD!!!!!

  • mariaa

OMG…..Like daughter like mother, clueless, it will be good for laughs, its ridiculous, be a teen mom and have a tv show, , what kind of message are we sending our kids?

    • IMPEACH OBAMA

You will kneel and praise the might and majesty of the Republican Party. Your One-Termer has ALREADY LOST! VIVA THE TEA-PARTY!!! FACT!!!

      • CK

You’re are just like an Islamic extremist, preaching your religion and supporting a cult. BTW, Palin and her whole family do not represent values. Bristol got knocked up as a young teen, has a kid out of wedlock, and is prancing around in the media pretending to be something she’s not…just like her mother. If you think this is responsible, you’re a nut just like them.

      • Tiffany

        Shut up!

      • Quills

FACT… we all LAUGH at you.
Your post is dangerously over-the-edge. This post is about Palin. Back to the subject at hand, or can’t you stay focused on the
        topic?

      • Evie

        And………

      • ihm

When is she posing for plaboy, family value conservative hippocrats will do anything for money, and come back and preach American people to be conservative and family values ….

      • Pepper

Stupid idiot! You probably don’t even know the meaning of the word IMPEACH!!!!!!!!

      • BT

Since when does having a kid out of wedlock have anything to do with values? Do we need to be married in order to have a kid n order to have values? That in itself is a ridiculous comment. And as for her getting pregnant as a “young teen” she was 17 when she got pregnant. Wouldn’t a young teen be more in the category of 13-15? Furthermore, the only time she is in the news/media is when the paparazzi are trying to get something out of her. Why don’t you leave the girl alone, and let her get on with her life?

  • toonaspie

Man, you people are taking this thing waaaaaaay too seriously!

The Secret Life of the American Teenager is such a ridiculous and far-fetched show, is it really that far-fetched to have Bristol Palin doing a cameo? Who cares?

  • Sandy

Go Bristol. She’s a beautiful girl and why not give her a chance. I am looking forward to her debut.

    • ks

she is not pretty inside, maybe because of who her mom is.

      • Ginny

        BRAVO!

  • Lola

Wow, this family will sell their souls to make a buck!

    • Tony Coyer

I agree its sad thisis what it all comes down to isnt it?

    • zzmook

While I do agree with you on that, the fact that Bristol is doing some acting with her clothes on really isn’t that shameless. I’m a Dem, absolutely despise her mother, and don’t like how she either let or caused the father to get locked out of her baby’s life, but doing a cameo on a TV show isn’t an awful thing. I just wish it was on Family Guy……

  • Phillip Bunn

She should be appearing on “The Secret Life of the Teenage Strumpet.”

  • Emma

She will be exposing herself to more criticism of the media by being a part of the Amer Teen show. The show is there to tell that it could happen to anybody but they are not doing a good job in showing the bad consequences.
