Dean Koontz's 'Frankenstein' series heads to big screen

Tags: , ,

Dean Koontz’s bestselling Frankenstein series is set to become a movie franchise, Variety reports. The modern take on the classic story centers on a prominent New Orleans businessman who creates the super-human Deucalion. When two detectives discover Deucalion while trying to solve a murder, it leads them to an entire group of “engineered humans.” The fourth book of Koontz’s series will be published in June, with fifth and sixth books scheduled in 2011 and 2012.

Wasn’t this on tv? Seems I remember something like this. When are they gonna make a Lucas Davenport, Jack Reacher, or Repairman Jack series

I love the Repairman Jack series and I know they’ve been talking movies for a while. But it would take 30 years and eight actors to tell the whole story. Kinda like James Bond.

Yes, it was a USA network tv movie starring Parker Posey. It was just on a few days ago and I thought it was pretty good. Apparently, it didn’t do the numbers it needed to though as the film ends on a cliffhanger. Vincent Perez played the doctor’s first creation and I thought he did an admirable job. Here’s hoping the big screen movie doesn’t have a similar cliffhanger with no resolution!

the usa movie ended on a cliff hanger because the other 2 books in the series hadn’t been published yet. they’re all out now so they can make three movies out of the story.

I am thrilled beyond measure. I’ve been a follower of Mr. Koontz for many years. This series is really different and he is a superb story teller.
