Susan Sarandon close to 'The Big Valley'

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Susan Sarandon is in talks to play Victoria Barkley, the matriarch of an 1870s ranching family, in a big screen adaptation of the 1960s ABC drama The Big Valley. The role was originated by Barbara Stanwyck, who won an Emmy for her work in 1966.
