Jamie Foxx's rep: 'No truth whatsoever' to 'Idol' rumors

Though Jamie Foxx’s name has been bandied about as a possible replacement for Simon Cowell on American Idol next year, his publicist says there’s “no truth whatsoever” to the rumors that he’s been approached for the job. “Never has been.” Those behind-the-scenes at the show say it’s still far too early to consider anyone a finalist for the gig, though Sirius shock-jock Howard Stern has gotten some major mileage this week out of discussing his own possible inclusion on the shortlist on the air. Other possibilities mentioned in the press have included music executives Tommy Mottola and Guy Oseary.

Jamie Foxx was good as a guest judge, but I don’t know if I’d want to see him every week. They need brutal honesty to replace Simon. Check out my TV blog at couchtimewithjill.blogspot.com, I just posted a new Idol recap.

I love Jamie Foxx and he and Ellen would be so funny but I’m not sure if he should be a good judge. Nobody is going to be able to replace Simon…

Can we blame these rumors on the goose?
