Penelope Cruz is reportedly in talks to costar with Johnny Depp in the next Pirates of the Caribbean sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The plot of the fourth pirate adventure is said to revolve around the fountain of youth. Cruz’s rep didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

Is a fourth film really necessary?
I liked all 3 movies…they were great…I am ready and waiting for the 4th one…I am sure it will be good…After all movies are a matter of taste…not everyone likes the same kind of movies…It will be a box office hit…
The two sequals were terrible, why do we need a fourth?
If she is in the movie I will not be happy. I love the franchise, but I don’t think a fourth movie is really necessary. The third one had a perfect ending–Jack sailing into the sunset with his compass and map–that is all he needs and that is how it should end. I love Jerry Bruckheimer, so I will watch the movie no matter who is in it, but I still don’t think this movie should be made.

I am excited for the 4th film. Penelope Cruz said she loved working with Rob Marshall in Nine, who is directing this one so I can see the attraction of this project for her.
I also heard a rumor that Russell Brand might be playing Johnny Depp’s brother. That would be great casting as well.

she does not make everything better. she was terrible in Captain Corelli’s Mandolin and so was Nic Cage. She cannot change her accent so she always sounds the same with her spanish accent and she is ugly.

I wonder what Rebecca looks like. I googled her and found nothing. But i found Penelope looking HOT. I looked for a photo of Rebecca on the nearest newstand. She wasn’t there. But I found Penelope on the cover of several magazines looking HOT. I just came back from seeing Nine. Was Rebecca one of the woman? Penelope was and she looked smoking HOT.

Rebecca is entitled to her opinion. I happen to share it. I also find Nicole Kidman, Cameron Diaz, John Mayer and Carrie Underwood to be quite ugly, though I know many people find them attractive. On the other hand, I find Kristen Bell, Giada DeLaurentis and Shania Twain to be beautiful. Different strokes, folks.
i agree with you Cardsgal, I think nicole kidman, cameron diaz and john mayer are ugly. many people think kidman is beautiful but i do not think she is at all, she is also a terrible actress.
I don’t care that you don’t think she’s beautiful. I care that you made a rather nasty comment about her accent (some of us like our actors to come from around the globe…you know, like people are?) and that you probably don’t know too much about her career. Anyone who has seen her act in Spanish or Italian knows she’s a great actress. See Volver, Broken Embraces, Don’t Move, Open Your Eyes or All About My Mother. I admit she had a bit of a hard time when she started in English (And Capt. Correlli’s was just bad all around), but she’s becoming one of the most magnetic forces on screen.
I also don’t think every actress is gorgeous, but I don’t feel the need to call them ugly online.
And you wouldn’t be making the comment about Nicole Kidman had you seen Margot at the Wedding or To Die For.

Besides, Penelope Cruz always looks like Penelope Cruz. You never see the character, just the actress. And, as someone said above, the accent makes everything worst. AND I do think she’s not as pretty as everyone seems to believe. Thanks God they’re just negotiating. Hope it won’t come true.
