20th Century Fox has joined forces with producer Kate Edelman Johnson to release a film based on The Big Valley, a 1960s series created by Johnson’s father, Louis F. Edelman. Susan Sarandon is in talks to star in Barbara Stanwyck’s role, which won the late actress an Emmy in 1966. Filming is expected to begin in early summer.

I used to love this show, which also introduced a young Lee Majors and Linda Evans. I wonder who will play Audra, Heath and the other Barkleys?
They had better be as handsome as the originals!
the TV series is one of my all time favorite and I hope this big screen remake doesn’t dissapoint like the others have done.
Susan Sarandon???? YUCK. Hope they do a better job casting than that.
I loved Big Valley and still do,I have to agree,I hope they don’t do a remake that the only thing we know is a title and names. and nothing else is familar. Please keep to the formula that made us fans.
Don’t throw todays poltics in
..keep to the time it was sat in.
As with many I’m holding my breath and hoping, but at the same time,I’d like to thank Ms.Kate Edelman Johnson and Mr Adams for even taking this project on.
Good Luck from a fan who watched in the 60′s.
I disagree, I think Sarandon has the strength of Ms. Stanwyck. She was great in that role.
As a lover of the original I can’t wait for the film. Hoping it will be near to the original. Good Luck and many thanks for at last giving us a western.
