If people are saying they won’t watch if Howard becomes a judge then hopefully he BECOMES A JUDGE. The only people who ever watch Idol are preppy teenyboppers who spend their lunch break pathetically putting on makeup in the bathroom…
I’m from the UK so don’t know Howard Stern all that well but doesn’t he swear like all of the time? I can’t see why they’d want him on a family TV show.
I like Howard Stern, but I would NOT like him on Idol. His ego and personality would take over; it would be a completely different show. Love his radio show, but putting him on Idol would be a bad idea.
Nope

We had Stern on the air here (Detroit) for a few years. I listened. Not that funny. Of course, i don’t care about American Idol, either, so that’s that.
So then why comment dumbass
hmmmm I think it should be a really mean gay man…. or a drag queen…. who else could come up with such witty remarks?
– of course they could go with someone who has just as much power in the record industry like Clive Davis…. or the So you think you can dance judge, Nigel.
ELTON JOHN would be perfect!
but didn’t Howard Stern invent – or was, at least, a very heavy promoter of – Vote For The Worst, that website that encouraged people to deliberately vote for the least talented contestants on AI to untimately produce the worst winner possible?
Howard Stern from 10 years ago would have kicked his older self’s ass just for being involved in this discussion.
What an utter waste of Stern’s time and talent that would be. Thankfully it will never happen.
If Howard’s in, I’m out.
Replace with all new cast Me, Gloria Estaban and Bill Medley. That will work.
AI has always been a family show. If they ever get Howard Stern, they’ll also have to get a censor with quick reflexes.
Howard Stern has been involved in broadcasting for 30 years. He is intelligent and knows what language he can use, depending on what he is broadcasting on.
I hate that man more than anything.
I do not watch the show now, but I would most def start turning in if Howard was a judge.
Stern actally came up with the idea for this show a long time ago. For those that say he would just be mean, you are just going off some preconceived nottion of what his show is like. Howard is an insightful and thoughtful entertainer. While he may discuss topics some prudes might think of as taboo, the rest of us well adjusted people think he is great.
Personally Howard wold be the only reason I would watch this inane version of Star Search.
