Variety reports that Disney has hired The Proposal director Anne Fletcher and Stepmom writer Jessie Nelson to create a second installment of Enchanted, the studio’s $123 million-grossing 2007 hit about a magical princess (Amy Adams) who is banished to live in modern day Manhattan. Adams and co-stars Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, and Susan Sarandon have yet to sign on to the project, which is tentatively slated for a 2011 release.

…Could be good.
YAY!
This was such a sweet movie. I swear at the very end when I heard Julie Andrews voice say “and they all lived happily ever after” I started to cry. Just the sound of her voice gets to me plus I’m a sucker for happy endings. Not sure about a sequel though. It ended so beautifully. Why ruin a great ending?
Amen. The movie had a great ending and Disney has an iffy record with sequels . . . it could be good but sometimes it is better to just let well enough alone.
This has just made my day…I turn 19 in less than 4 days and a stupid movie about could have been princess makes my life…that is only if Amy and Patrick come back!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO it was perfect just the way it was. It better be awesome like the 1st one.
really don’t think there needs to be another film because the first one was wonderful and it’ll be hard for the story to continue. My prediction is that a new villlian comes to Andalasia and Edward and Nany are in trouble and it will be up to Giselle and Robert to save them. Amy needs to reurn as Giselle. There’s no one else who could play her IMO.
I can’t wati to see thies
I loved Enchanted. But a sequel to a “happily ever after” part-live action? Um, no. Amy, while adorable as Giselle, is already 35. For how long (and for how old) can she be believable as the innocent ingenue? And Idina, as Nancy, is already 38. Sorry, but at nearly 40 by the time the new film bows, I can’t see her as needing any assistance. And as far as needing to re-sign Susan Sarandon, her character of Nerissa DIED.
Now, if these ladies merely provided voices for an animated film, absolutely I could find them true & believable. But not in live action.
