TV writer Barry Blitzer passed away Jan. 27 in Santa Monica, Calif., from complications after abdominal surgery, according to Variety. Blitzer, who wrote for such series as Get Smart and The Flintstones, was 80. The Emmy winner and Writers Guild nominee also helped pen episodes of The Love Boat, Land of the Lost, and The Jetsons.
