Bill Murray will play a gangster in Mitch Glazer’s film, Passion Play, according to Production Weekly Magazine. Murray, who replaces a much-younger Toby Kebbell in the role, joins a cast that includes Mickey Rourke and Megan Fox. Empire Magazine reports that Rourke plays a trumpet player who saves an angel, played by Fox, from a violent gangster.

Weinstein Co. delays 'Piranha 3-D'
Piranha 3-D, the fish story starring Elisabeth Shue and Adam Scott, has been postponed from its scheduled April 16 release until August, at the earliest. The Los Angeles Times reported The Weinstein Co. claims that its decision to move the film has nothing to do with the company’s finances, but the delay is the latest in a series of Weinstein release-day postponements, which have included The Road and Hoodwinked Too.
Jenna Fischer eyeing Farrelly brothers' comedy
Jenna Fischer of The Office is in talks to star opposite Owen Wilson in the Farrelly brothers’ comedy, Hall Pass. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the plot revolves around a wife who grants her husband a “hall pass,” giving him temporary license to have extramarital sex. Saturday Night Live‘s Jason Sudeikis will play a friend with a similar arrangement.
Lady Gaga suffers health scare, cancels show
Lady Gaga canceled a performance at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., last night. An hour before the show was scheduled to begin, the singer began to feel dizzy and had difficulties breathing. According to the star’s Twitter account, paramedics diagnosed an irregular heartbeat due to exhaustion and dehydration. She announced plans for a make-up concert at Purdue on Jan. 26.
UPDATE: George Clooney's Haiti telethon to air on MTV, ABC, NBC, HBO, and CNN
On Friday, Jan. 22, George Clooney will host a live telethon to benefit earthquake victims in Haiti. Clooney’s rep says the telethon is now set to air on all of the MTV channels worldwide, along with ABC, NBC, HBO, and CNN. The show will air 8-10 p.m. ET.
Clooney first mentioned the event to Roger Friedman of The Hollywood Reporter last night at a private reception for his movie Up in the Air, and said that he has been reaching out to famous friends and performers to join in from both coasts.
His rep says Thursday night that the event’s logistics are still being ironed out, including what organizations/charities will be involved and which musicians will perform.
'Iron Man 2' ready for its IMAX close-up
Iron Man 2 just got even bigger. The highly anticipated sequel will be simultaneously released on IMAX screens on May 7, Paramount Pictures, Marvel Entertainment, and IMAX Corporation jointly announced today. “We’re excited that the IMAX format will offer fans an even more immersive way to experience the sequel,” said Marvel Studios chief operating officer Tim Connors.
Spielberg to produce TV documentary about the rebuilding of the World Trade Center
Steven Spielberg will executive produce a six-part documentary series for the Science Channel about the rebuilding of New York City’s World Trade Center, the network announced today. The series, called Rebuilding Ground Zero, will air in 2011 and will document the building of the 1,776-foot tall One World Trade Center skyscraper. When completed in 2013, One World Trade Center will be the tallest building in the United States.
