Pauly Fuemana, 40, the New Zealand singer who recorded under the moniker OMC, died on Sunday after a short illness, according to Reuters. OMC is best known for the 1995 hit “How Bizarre,” which released internationally the next year, reaching No. 1 in eight countries, including Canada, Australia, and Ireland, and No. 4 in the U.S. Feumana never again matched the success of “How Bizarre,” filing bankruptcy in 2006, losing his house and other assets, including songwriting royalties, Reuters reports.

They only had one album and it came out in ’96… And I’m pretty sure How Bizzare didn’t hit the US charts until ’97. Is it just me or does EW need to do some MAJOR restaffing?
So is a song technically not released until it’s released in the U.S.? It’s a great big world out here, ya know.
True true. It’s not about the US. But I will say this… If you’re going to call someone out, stand up for your statement and put your name in there. Otherwise your argument just falls flat.
Debut album with that song was in ’95, charted worldwide 1996-97. So yes it’s just you.
Actually, the song was ORIGINALLY released in their home country of New Zealand in 1995 and wasn’t internationally released until ’96, and a hit until ’97
The single “How Bizarre” was released in December of 1995.
Is it just me, or do the crotchety nitpickers maybe need to do a little research before they post their “know-it-all” comments?
Word!
You all should be ashamed of yourselves. Instead of commenting on how sad a passing of a talented singer is, you’re only concern is what year the song came out and how wrong the EW writer is.
With that said, this man was very talented and it is a shame that he couldn’t find more success in America. R.I.P Pauly Fuemana
Oh, you know what, Jess? Bite me. I’ll sleep fine at night without having whipped myself into a frenzy of manufactured grief over someone I don’t even know. Yeah, it’s sad. But so is the fact that not one single writer on this site can clack out a few words without douchedrizzles like Munz jumping all over them.
That’s pretty sad. I got married the summer of 97, and I remember that was ALWAYS on the car radio. I always kinda wondered what ever became of that guy.
How bizarre.
Wow, I remember that song. I had no idea he was from New Zealand until Flight of the Conchords mentioned him at one of their concerts. RIP.
In late 1995 huh! released the debut OMC single How Bizarre and the album followed 7 months later. Since then the album and the associated singles have sold almost 4 million copies, topped charts in 15 countries (including the US, Canada, NZ, Australia) and gone top ten almost everywhere else. How Bizarre has received BMI certification for in excess of two million US plays and the album remains the only NZ recorded album to have received Platinum certification in the USA.
Rest in peace.

Test:
1. Where is this going so I can tell what it is.
2. What is the ultimate purpose of it all
3. Huh?
Test:
1. Where is the new building supposed to be placed in accordance to regulations and laws?
2. How am I supposed to figure out the reason for everything that is going on in the world?
3. Why?
