VH1 greenlights three new reality shows

VH1 has greenlit three new reality TV shows, the network announced today. Transform Me, which premieres March 15, is about three transgender female friends giving women style makeovers and emotional support. Undateable, based on a relationship advice book about what men do wrong in women’s eyes, will be a five-hour special airing over five consecutive nights. Famous Crime Scene, premiering Feb. 12, will look at the untimely deaths of Tupac Shakur, Biggie Smalls, John Lennon, Anna Nicole Smith, Selena, Marvin Gaye, and Michael Jackson. In addition, VH1 has acquired the MTV Canada series Peak Season: Vancouver, about young adults in the ski resort community; that will premiere Feb. 14.

And they played music? *groan* more reality shows?

    • Ambient Lite

      quispy = other crispy??

      • quispy

other crispy what? I thought my comment was okay.

      • Ben

Oh no, quispy, I think that Ambient Life is referring to the poster “crispy”, who is an angry loser. You seem fine though, so don’t worry.

  • Ben

…there’s an MTV Canada?!?!?! How sad, lol!

    • Brett

Yep – and it’s quite successful, as well. It also carries more music related programming.

  • S.O.

Wake me up when VH1 does programming about actual music I enjoy. For now, I’ll pass.

  • Brett

Canadian here. Peak Season: Vancouver? Uh, the show takes place in Whistler (a small resort community), which isn’t even IN Vancouver (which isn’t classified a “ski resort community” – it has the population of over half a million).

I will not watch any of these!
    I hate reality shows!

  • Anon

Disgusting! Play some music VH1 and quit putting on this sleazy programming!

  • Kayde_Lyn

Just what television needs, more mindless, cheap crap.

  • whatevs

Can basic cable please cancel VH1 in favor of TV Land or something?

  • tomm

Yet another complaint about few music videos on MTV/VH1. Well, when was the last time anyone sat and watched videos for an hour? 1983?

    • Sue1

We would if we could, believe me.

  • Elle

i dont see how skiing is sleazy. how is a show about TUPAC and JOHN LENNON considered sleazy?

  • Trent

I’ll admit, I may watch Undateable, since that could be the male counterpart to Tough Love. But the others don’t seem too interesting to me.

Also, keep in mind, depending on your cable-tv provider, VH1-Classic still airs numerous videos, esp. in the AM (although they show movies and concerts as well). And for old-school MTV-vets out there, there’s MTV2 (some videos in AM and late night), and MTV-Hits, which (for now) shows a lot of videos.
