Ratings for ABC’s World News have gone up by about 8 percent in Diane Sawyer’s first four weeks as anchor, according to a Los Angeles Times profile. The evening newscast has averaged 8.8 million viewers since Sawyer replaced departing anchor Charles Gibson on Dec. 21, 2009.

Kudos to Diane Sawyer. I miss seeing Charlie in the anchor seat, but Diane brings a new perspective to the position and has proven herself more than capable. Keep up the great work ABC.
