With The Jay Leno Show soon departing the airwaves, NBC is picking up additional scripted episodes from existing series to fill its slot. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network has ordered three additional episodes of Law & Order, and two episodes from Law & Order: SVU. NBC has also ordered extra episodes of Trauma, Community, and Parks & Recreation in order to boost viewership for the ratings-challenged shows.

Perhaps it’s apples and oranges, but I find it interesting that NBC’s response to the 3 “ratings-challenged” programs above is to order additional episodes, while their response to the “ratings-challenged” Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien was quite different.
I wish the would put L&O SVU back on at 10pm. I hate that’s on against Criminal Minds and Glee
When Glee comes back in April, it will be Tuesday nights. I’m glad it won’t be on against Criminal Minds!
L&O SVU is going back to 10pm on Wednesdays, not sure when though.
And Glee is moving to Tuesdays at 9pm when it returns in April.

I completely agree! Life was one of the best shows on television and was never properly supported by NBC. Bring it back!
I love Community and Parks and Rec! Yay for more episodes. I hope they do gain more viewers. Thursday nights are one of the best for me. Though I wish some of my other favorite shows were available on demand or on hulu or at least on the station’s websites. Crimal Minds, Law and Order Original Recipe, and Law and Order SVU really need to get the on demand/hulu treatment!! Fox puts Bones on hulu, why can’t we get these other shows NBC and CBS?! Anywho, I love that I get to watch Modern Family and all of NBC’s thursday shows on demand and hulu whenever I want (even though they are the only five shows I actually make a point every week to stop, sit down, and watch when they air). The argument might be that if I liked Criminal Minds and Law and Order so much, I would make time and sit down and watch them when they aired too but it’s just not feasable when you work 7:30 to 5 every day of the week to let TV eat that much of your time! Oh well!
