Cablevision and Scripps Networks Interactive announced Thursday that the two companies have reached an agreement that will allow the return of Food Network and HGTV programming to Cablevision customers in the New York Tri-State region starting the same day. The two networks went black on Jan. 1 for about 3 million Cablevision subscribers due to a contract renegotiation dispute. Terms of the new agreement were not disclosed.

THANK GOD! FINALLY! Ugh, not having the Food Network pretty much ruins the whole point of having cable. Now I can finally catch up on all the cool shows I’ve been missing.
I am happy to house hunters back but want to know what it is going to cost me. Cablevision will make the customers pay.
Hoooray! This just made my week! I’m hesitant to be too excited because of what this might mean for the additional fees we’ll have to pay, but for now I have my two favorite channels back and that’s a good thing!
lets see how subscribers get shafted
Come on EW…can’t you do something to stop all the spam from your comments?! This is ridiculous!
Made no difference to me.
Tired of paying for all the stations I DON’T WATCH on Cablevision.
Why not let me NOT watch the stuff I don’t care about – Sports, Religion, Spanish, Fox Noise- are you going to DEDUCT THE COST of the Stations I DON’T WATCH?
I don’t see that happenning!
Just to make it clear, THE great thing about Cable (or whatever provider)is that you should be able to pay for what YOU like to watch!
If you can block Showtime, WHY CAN’T you block Pat Robertson? Sabado Gigante? Bill o’Reilly?
Adam Sandler? – And charge me for the ACTUAL THINGS THAT I WATCH! YOU HAVE NO PROBLEM,CABLEVISION,CHARGING ME FOR NETWORKS I Don’t care about, NEVER WATCH, but are worried about a couple of cents per subscriber when your bluff is called!
How about this- DROP THE CHANNELS NOBODY WATCHES!?
And charge those of us that have been with you for years for the things we are ACTUALLY WATCHING!
Didn’t mean to shout, but you don’t seem to listen.
Each channel has at least one viewer. For instance, I watch sports and Fox, so should they take this off of everyone’s tv’s just because Michael Holmes doesn’t watch them?
And you mention Bill O’reilly, I don’t personally wacch him, but there are people that do. Are you proposing that Cablevision only offer the channels that you personally enjoy watching?
Cablevision annoys me as well, but your post is completely ridiculous. If you don’t like what Cablevision has to offer you, or the prices that they charge you there are other places that you can go.
I start interning at Cablevision tomorrow. My mom is so happy to have her HGTV back. She almost cried. lol.
