How is HE putting them outta work?? Do you live in a cave?
Good riddance Conan!
Conan isn’t going away, you nimrod. He is going to FOX, so you will have to put up with him, just like haters will have to put up with Idol. Bwahaha!
Fox is thankfully not in Canada. Kill Fox, such junk. I will not suffer Conan, either although we all have our preferences, I know. I just didn’t ever see anything worth 40 mil in him… Terrible what some tv has become. Can’t even crack more than a wince from
Jimmy Fallon sucks too!
Who cares? Is this NEWS?!
Umm, this is Entertainment Weekly
Entertainment, Weakly
You went to an entertainment magazine’s website, clicked a story, read it, and decided to post about it….Uh, I guess it is news here, and you cared enough to do all that. Putz…
This freak has just boned his staff.
‘Sure, I’ll take the cash!…staff? What staff?’ Why they bother to pay this bizarre-looking, unfunny doofus is beyond me, anyway. Leno and his writers are far sharper. bye carrot top
Tom, not sure what you’re smoking, but Conan is not a “freak” and he didn’t “bone his staff”. Dude, grow up and grow a brain. The deal he reportedly made includes $8 Million for HIS STAFF. Duh. If that’s “boning”, include me in! Face it man, Leno tanked, no question. Now he wants his old gig back. Too late, man. Conan is MUCH funnier than Leno. Leno is done, over, kaput.
You’re getting it mixed up. Letterman’s the one who boned his staff.
Tom seems about as smart as the average Leno fan.
Wow. Wherever Conan lands, I predict he’ll be number one – especially if he goes to Fox and ends up head-to-heads vs. Letterman and Leno. I’m impressed with how Conan handled this.
ummm… if Conan isn’t number one currently how could he be number one on another channel?
Uh, Leno will not be a weak lead-in for Fallon. Leno had twice as many viewers on the Tonight Show than Conan. Don’t confuse his performance at 10pm with Tonight Show performance- they are two different animals. Fallon will likely benefit in two ways- a stronger lead in, and the fact that he kept his nose clean through all of this mess by keeping out of it.
While 5 million viewers is good at 11:30pm, it is not good at 10pm when more people are awake and more original content is being aired.
All Leno has to do is say he doesn’t want to go back to TTS and put Conan out of work. End of problem and controversy. But will Leno do that? Noooo. Leno likes to say NBC is ‘making’ him do that. Frankly, that’s bull. If Leno didn’t ‘want’ to do it, he wouldn’t. Truth is, he ‘does’ want to bump out Conan. Leno, face it, you tanked in your new time, now you want your old job back. Just retire or move on. You’re acting just like Brett Favre did and you’ll reap the same results. Keep Conan, he’s much better.
Um, Favre playing for the NFC championship… Are you supporting Jay, or do you just blow at analogies?
It probably will work out well for Conan, his next show won’t have the structural limits that this one did. Leno will have a job and a bigger audience that he frankly doesn’t deserve – and I suspect that Letterman will whip him soundly for at least a good year once he returns. And NBC? Seen as the derivative network they are, television’s home to shows that gutless executives won’t retire.
Not bad: Forty million for taking a show down to the basement ratings, then tossing a hissy fit because you got called on the failure.
On the bright side, when Leno returns I can quit watching Nightline.
wouldn’t give him 40 cents…he’s not funny
I’m eager to watch Conan on a new network or medium that appreciates his talent and what a class act he is. The industry needs more people like him who stand up for principle and treating their staff well.
The loser in all this IMHO is Jay Leno, who should have either retired or told NBC that bumping Conan was a bad idea. Leno’s “Late Night” legacy is over, time to move on.
And the comments NBC has made about Conan – simply highlights how unprofessional and clueless the top management is there. You NEVER dispagare your own employees, yet they have made this a science and normal course of business.
That means their viewers and business, should go elsewhere.
Yes, NBC did screw up in my opinion. I was watching NBC for Conan’s show at 11:35 because I have a 8-5 job. Now that Jay moved back into the 11:35 time slot I will switch back to Letterman and wait on Conan to come back.
Loved Conan’s show, much more entertaining than watching some old guys blabber on. Sad it ended this way. Agree that Conan is not to blame, thx NBC, db’s.
Face it Leno Lovers. He sucked in the new time slot. NBC knows it, Leno knows, ‘everyone’ knows it. On the other hand, Conan shines. Again, ‘everyone’ knows it. Conan is simply funnier than Leno. Case closed. I agree with a previous poster, Leno should just move on or retire. He’s done. If/when he moves back to The Tonight Show, his ratings will go up for a bit, then drop off after the novelty wears off. The reason people was talk show hosts is the comedy. And Conan is better at it than Leno. End of story.
