Lady Gaga canceled a performance at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., last night. An hour before the show was scheduled to begin, the singer began to feel dizzy and had difficulties breathing. According to the star’s Twitter account, paramedics diagnosed an irregular heartbeat due to exhaustion and dehydration. She announced plans for a make-up concert at Purdue on Jan. 26.

I have friends who were at that concert and were pissed at first when it was cancelled, but they love Gaga and wish her well.

Being an idiot, you don’t follow that she is a freak, always felt like one, and she’s adored for it and for embracing it and fans that feel similarly. And, to the contrary, there pretty much is no professional doubt that she’s a great singer – for a pop star. Heck, she’s one of the 5% that can sing live these days. And cuts albums without autotune.

Lady Gaga has literally been working NONSTOP … endless world tours, back to back promotion, plus she writes her own songs, designs her shows, comes up with the ideas for her (fantastic) music videos, composes her own music…she’s known for being a workaholic and she needs a BREAK.

She’s awesome. A force of nature, and possibly she’s over extended. I hope to hell she is not doing drugs to maintain the pace. Usually when a young star has exhaustion, it is a sign of drug problems. But Gaga HAS been ubiquitous and prodigious in her output this year. So we’ll give her the benefit of the doubt.

Gaga also just canceled tomorrow night’s SOLD OUT show at the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City. No new date has been announced yet.

I was at the concert when it happened. At first we thought it might be a type of staged prank to get the audience riled up, but the cope standing next to the announcer wasn’t smiling.
Lady Gaga is human just the same as the rest of us and suffers the same afflictions we do from time to time. I’ve heard she puts on one HELL of a good show, and when I’m back there January 26th with my ticket I know she’s going to give it to us hard! I wish her a speedy recovery and can’t wait to see her 15th row back. Get better real soon GaGa.! You’re an awesome gal and a great entertainer!
