The Disney Channel has confirmed that its hit comedy Hannah Montana starring Miley Cyrus will air its series finale in spring, 2011. Production on the last season begins Jan. 18 but the network has yet to announce when it will schedule the final episodes. Meanwhile, the sitcom’s third season finale will air this March with Miley Stewart (Cyrus) deciding whether to stay in Los Angeles or return to Tennessee – a pivotal story arc that kicks off the final season that’s set to star Ray Liotta and Angus T. Jones (Two and A Half Men).
Hannah Montana continues to deliver at all-time high levels in total viewers. In 2009, the comedy was Disney Channel’s No. 1 series in total viewers and tweens 9-14.

Lizzie McGuire was intended to last longer. In fact, Disney wanted to transition it into a primetime show on ABC, which would have followed Lizzie and her friends in high school. But Hilary Duff felt she wasn’t going to be paid enough money for the show, so it fell through. I feel a little bit ashamed for knowing all this.

a “tween” is a term for a young person between around 9 and 14. They are “between” being a kid and an older teenager. It is the very demographic shows like Hannah Montana are produced for.

Since very recently, MissVampireDiaries. Generally, “tweens” used to refer to the 9-12 age set, an age group once called “pre-teens”. I get the “tween” thing, but I think it’s coz at 13 and 14, you’re still pretty young, so they slot you in with the other group.
