With the news that Spider-Man 4‘s production has been delayed, Paramount and Marvel have pushed up the release of Thor by two weeks to the new launch of May 6, 2011, Variety reports. Also, Disney has now grabbed Thor‘s former date of May 20 for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Spider-Man 4 was due out on May 6, 2011; the film could still be ready in time for that date.

2011 should be an interesting summer for movies.
Pirate’s 4?! Really? Even Johnny Depp owned up to the last 2 films being crappy. What possible reason would he have to do another one other than for a huge paycheck? My respect for him as an actor has now diminished considerably.
I actually think the fourth film could end up being significantly better than the third. With a brand new storyline, it probably won’t be as much of a convoluted mess and could turn out to be a fun adventure similar to the first film. And it will be without the tiring Will/Elizabeth romance, which became really annoying by the third film.
I believe part two of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” is also scheduled for a summer 2011 release.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two is scheduled for a July 2011 release. Those mentioned in this article focus on a May 2011 release.
