Hanes pulls commercials featuring Charlie Sheen

Tags:

In the wake of Charlie Sheen’s Dec. 25 arrest for domestic abuse charges, Hanes has pulled its commercials that featured the actor alongside Michael Jordan, reports People. A Hanesbrands spokesman told the magazine that the company suspended the Sheen ads for its Comfortsoft undershirts on Dec. 28; some of the spots did air from Dec. 25-27 because Hanesbrands could not get in touch with the networks over the holiday weekend. Sheen’s year-long contract with Hanes ends in the mid-2010. The spokesman says that a print ad with Sheen will be seen this spring in some trade publications, as it could not be changed before going to press. Sheen is currently shooting his hit CBS comedy Two and a Half Men.

Pretty soon there won’t be any celebrities to pitch products.

I wish. Well, unless it means that we get more commercials with “celebrities”-Paris Hilton, One of those Kardassian chicks etc.

Poor Charlie.. That woman seems like she was asking for trouble, it’s not his fault

    • 4rocket

So it’s OK to be physically violent with a woman just because she pisses you off? I hope you don’t have a wife or girlfriend!

    • niki

Wow. I going to assume you’re being sarcastic.

      • wp2012

Not sarcasstic..I dont encourage violence, but some people do push others to do mad things.. she seems like a trouble maker

Ha ha right on detssera…….get it together Charlie and GROW UP!!

I know you’re just saying that for shock value and to get a torrent of outraged sponses. Hopefully my response to you is the last one, everybody else just ingore wp2012 please. Have a good evening wp.

  • Detssera Rats

Crap-that means we do not get to see him throw his cell into that prett Aston Martin.

well I’m glad there is SOME consequence – that someone is actually making it clear he did something wrong.

The fact that no one really seems to care that Charlie Sheen did this is quite upsetting. ALMOST makes me feel bad for Chris Brown. No one will be boycotting Two and a Half Men I bet.

I wish that would happen. Then that pathetic excuse for a show might be canceled!

  • wp2012

why should they boycott his sitcom? it’s as funny as now as it was before. his personal life should not and will not affect this great show.

    • Fatima

Well first off, it’s one of the worst shows on television.
Secondly, you don’t have to ban it. But everyone was up in arms about Chris Brown and said they would never listen to his music again, but somehow Charlie Sheen escapes this time and time again. I don’t get the double standard.

  • wp2012

well, casue he is white.. simple as that

Actually, I feel like it might have to do more with the fact that Chris Brown beat up Rihanna. A lot of people know and like Rihanna.

On the other hand, we don’t really know Brooke, um, Charlie Sheen’s wife, so it might be a little harder for most to get up in arms about it. I’m not saying it’s right (both acts are absolutely reprehensible), but I think that may be part of it.

Another part of it might be that we all kind of already know that Charlie Sheen is a scumbag, so we’re not really surprise. That may account for the lack of shock and outrage – the idea that this is “Charlie Sheen being Charlie Sheen.” (Sad, but possibly true.)

One of these days he’s going to pull a knife on a man instead of a drunken woman and he’s going to get his butt whipped, or worse.

  • Jeff

I hate this jerk. He ought to be in jail, but I’ll settle for a lucrative endorsement going down the drain. Ten bucks says that after the American public finally tires of his POS sitcom, within five years, he’s fat and in jail.
