An Alaska judge has denied Bristol Palin’s request to keep her custody court battle private, CNN reports. Palin, the daughter of former VP candidate Sarah Palin, had asked the court that her court dealings with ex-boyfriend Levi Johnston over the custody of their son be kept private to prevent “a media circus.” Bristol Palin is seeking full custody of one-year-old Tripp. Johnston is seeking shared custody. Both parents are 19 years old.

All court procedings are public, absent a very, very good reason to keep them closed (think child sexual abuse). There was a case awhile ago involving claims someone was having an affair with Bruce Springsteen. I think the judge’s ruling denying the motion to seal the record is out there on youtube. Worth watching.
There is no reason whatsoever that an entertainment news website should be covering this story.
…because her mom, Sarah, would NEVER write a book or appear on SNL or any other entertainment TV show! And Levi Johnston has never made any attempts to build a career for himself in the entertainment industry!

I don’t think those people should be covered either. Don’t assume you know what I think or believe. Sarah Palin is, for the most part, still a political figure in this country and not an entertainment figure. I happen to believe that those spheres should be kept separate for the benefit of both. Because she is a politician, and not a talk-show host (yet), her personal life shouldn’t be discussed on an entertainment website.
Palin is a political figure? What office does she hold? Funny, I thought she quit as governor of Alaska back in July. What’s she’s doing now? Writing books? Going on media tours? Appearing on talk shows? I’d say she’s by far more of an entertainment figure at this point than a political one.

Bristol Palin went on Good Morning American and was on the cover of People Magazine as an “ambassador of abstinence.” So she hasn’t exactly shied from the spotlight.
As for EW covering this, they can cover anything they want. They can cover the farmer’s almanac if they want. No one is forced to come here against their will.
I’m not even a fan of Palin, at all. But I think this kind of sucks.

Honestly all that Bristol would need to do to get sole custody of her baby is show the judge a picture of Levi in Playgirl and about his alter ego “Ricky Hollywood”.

The Palin family is as ghetto as it gets. Sarah is dumb (she barely finished community college), her husband belonged to a group that wanted to secede from America, her unwed teenage daughter has a baby because her dumb mother doesn’t believe in birth control discussions, and Levi Johnson is in Playgirl. This family should be followed around with cameras for a reality television show 24 hours/day. Like I said above, I love reading about white trash!
