Jimmy, I never knew you. But I know that the music Avenged Sevenfold has brought into my life for the past 8 years I’ve known you has been ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I think that in time you may have been considered one of the baddest ass drummers ever, in my eyes you certainly were. In songs like “Burn it down” and “Almost Easy” you sounded like you had 8 friggin arms. I can only hope to one day be as talented a drummer as you.
As a Huge fan of Heavy Metal Music, I know I may never hear a new A7X album and it is very sad. But I thank you for the wonderful shows you put on the 6 times I saw you here in Arizona since 2002.
Your music may not be for everyone’s taste, but “Waking the Fallen”, “Sounding The Seventh Trumpet”, “City of Evil” and even the “Self-Titled Album” will forever and always bring joy to my ears!
My Prayers and Condolensces to M, Syn, Zacky, and Johnny. I hope you guys can keep it together. If there will ever be another A7X show anywhere, I will be there, in the circle, letting loose all the rage and pain that your music puts to ease.
God now holds a small piece of the foundation that keeps “our music” heavy and fun!

WTF who dies of natural causes at 28?!?! Drugs perhaps? I assume if he had a medical condition that would be known.

So sorry to hear about Jimmy, or “The Rev”. I loved just listning to him drum or sing in the background. A7x is one of my favorite bands and my sympathy goes out to all of you band members, and family members. We love you Jimmy!
You will be missed Rev, you were one of the best drummers I had the pleasure of seeing live. RIP

Jimmy was an inspiration to many. It makes me sad to see how ignorant alot of the people on here are. People who feel the need to bash someone because they havent won 20 grammys, or arent on the radio 24/7. the man was truley one of the best drummers out there, and certainly one of the best drummers to emerge this decade. A7x is an amazing band with a wide range of songs across all thier albums, and its a damn shame to see them have to go through something like this at this point in thier careers.
