Simon Cowell’s brother Tony made a bold statement during his weekly podcast, saying that his famed judge sibling will be leaving the U.S.’s biggest television show, American Idol, at the end of 2010. “Meanwhile, Simon prepares for a new season of Idol—or should I say, his last season of Idol,” Tony said during a segment. He continued: “OK, I will. Because it is. As I sit here with my family in the sunny Caribbean, a press statement is being prepared, which will confirm what everyone expected: Simon will leave Idol at the end of 2010 to concentrate on bringing the American version of X Factor to U.S. TV in 2011.”
Rumors about Simon Cowell leaving Idol circulate rather regularly. A press representative for American Idol at Fox and Simon Cowell’s personal publicist had no comment on the statements from Tony Cowell.

While I don’t know this is true, it confirms my suspicion. Simon was not happy about Paula leaving. With Simon gone, it will be the end of Idol. With the poor showing of Kris Allen, Idol is no longer the hits maker it used to be. It’s time to end the show!
American Idol will crumble without Simon, but I also think that X Factor won’t be as big as Idol either. So this is really a lose/lose as far as I perceive it.

If this proves true, good riddance. He can take his condescending rudeness back where it came from. Constructive criticism is excellent for these young talents, but he does not know how to communicate it correctly. Kara and Randy are the only judges worth it on that show. Ellen knows nothing about musical performance, her input has no relevance to this show.

I will quit when Simon leaves “Idol.” It will be so stgarnge to watch it without Paula, but Simon leaving would be very sad.
I love Paula and would continue to watch without her BUT I am not watching any longer due to Ellen being added! And without Simon I would never watch again.
The industry is always tampered with more then imagine will ever want. Just end Idol all together, We dont need Tony and we don’t need Simon. Everyone should fold and return my canoe.
