32 and dying from a heart attack does not always equal drugs. My husband is 32 and had his heart attack at 31. It’s something that he’s always had, but didn’t know till the heart attack last year. No one can assume prematurely that drugs had anything to do with her death.

Woaw, unexpected !! This is really sad news. What’s with everybody dying lately ?

Brittany was one of my childhood favorite actresses! She will be missed. My prayers go out to her family….

I lost a good friend when he was 24. Massive cardiac arrest. No drugs, no eating disorder, just a medical condition. To assume it was ‘one or the other’ is just ignorant.

There are plenty of people who may seem healthy, but have an underlying medical condition. I lost a friend at 15 to sudden cardiac arrest. I feel very bad for Brittany Murphy’s family and friends, however there is no official cause of death yet. It could have been anything. The drug rumors have been going on for YEARS, so speculation about it isn’t completely out of the question either. Less than a month ago, her husband was transported from a plane to a hospital for an “asthma attack” that the paramedics assumed was more serious. Unless Brittany and her husband happen to be two very sickly individuals, there’s more to the story than first meets the eye.

Not ignorant – just going by previous situations similar to this, that’s all. It is tragic, regardless of how/why. But just like everyone thought something strange about Tiger’s accident, you can bet a majority of people have had the thought that something else will come out on this, other than an existing condition.

The “problem” with these type of comments is that Brittany hasn’t looked healthy in years. Even if it is natural causes, it is not at all surprising, because she looked so sickly.

I think the thing in all of this that gets me is that she is only a year older than me. It makes you really think about what you are doing with your life, no matter if she is a celeb or the girl next door. Dying young is tragic.

How incredibly sad. She was so fun to watch in movies. I’m so sorry for her family. It’s just simply very sad this had to happen to her.

People who leave cruel comments need to find out what they are so unhappy about in their own lives and work on it. Brittany Murphy entertained those of us who watched her movies. I liked her movie where she was the nanny of the little lonely rich girl. By thw way, I lost a classmate to a heart attack. He was 17 years old. If true, I am saddened by Brittany Murphy’s passing and my prayers go out to her family, loved ones and friends.

i think anyone on here who makes a negative or insulting comment about her death or any of the other comments regarding this article is disgusting and needs to get a real life..obviously it is sad this woman died despite the cause of it and if you have nothing compassionate to say about it, you should keep your mouth shut and go be miserable somewhere else

Amen Chris! Those are my thoughts exactly. Her movies made me laugh and cry, sometimes at the same time! She will be missed!

Her performance in “Girl, Interrupted” was absolutely heart-wrenching. The way she played that part–a girl so destroyed by sexual abuse it drove her to delusions and eventually suicide–made it such an emotionally overwhelming but brilliant thing to watch. On a lighter note, I’ll always remember her for singing, “Rollin’ with the homies!” in Clueless.

    • RayT

And listen to “Faster Kill Pussycat”, the song she did with Paul Oakenfold, to hear what an amazing voice she had.

  • Michelle Pujols

I’m hoping is not drugs so people can stop being so judgemental.

It is possible for a thirty something to die of cardiac arrest. We don’t know her family history or if she was taking medications for other legit reasons. Geez.

Wow this is so sad. I really liked Brittany Murphy. She had such a bubbly, infectious personality. She was really talented when given the right material. Loved her in Clueless, Don’t Say a Word, and Sin City. She was pretty much the only good thing about Just Married. And she had a great voice as a singer too. Her career kind of took a dip in recent years, but I kept hoping she would return to prominence once again. I hope her family is okay. My prayers are with them. It’s always tragic to lose someone so young.

    • Dave

On a positive note, I’ll remember the times she entertained me. Like in Clueless, when she says to Cher, “Why should I listen to you? You’re a virgin who can’t drive.” That line always made me laugh!

  • Courtney

How sad! I loved her in Uptown girls and Just Married! My heart goes out to all of her loved ones!

  • Allison

This is sad news… but I have to admit the first thing I thought was “eating disorder.”

  • dsf

she was a crack whore. her husband got whatever use out her before she fed wally the worm

    • Linda L

      That was totally uncalled for.
