I bet it was statutory. The girl was probably, like, 17 years old and he was, like, 23.
The girl was a teenager but according to reports 14 or 15.
The police charges state that Shane was at least 10 years older than the alleged victim. The charges are for child molestation and are totally different than statutory rape.
Wow?! This kind of ignorance is exactly why these things continue to happen. How can you be divided on an issue such as child molestation? Who gives a crap if he was 23 and she was 16…it’s still wrong. If it turns out he’s not guilty, then I hope he can move past it.
As for the alleged victim waiting 15 years, my question to everyone is when’s the last time you were sexually assaulted? How did it make you feel? You have no idea what that kind of violation does to a person (especially a child) unless you’ve been through it. 15 years or 50 years…it doesn’t matter…
Does it seem wrong to anyone else that in cases of “accusations” of sexual misconduct, including rape, child molestation, etc, the name of the person who has been accused (NOT convicted) is smeared all over the public media while the accuser remains anonymous? In cases such as this you don’t ever really have to be guilty. Once your name is publicly associated with a sexual crime it is pretty much an automatic conviction and there goes your life!!!
Does anyone find it funny that his name is Melvin? TMZ says it happened when he was 25 and the girl was 10 i guess we will see what happens next wonder if he will still be judging ABDC this season it starts and the end of January
TMZ is wrong. He was born in 1974 and it happened between the years of 94-97.
Shane is an entertainer…they famously lie about age. The charges say he was born in 1969!
He needs to be replaced. He was a good judge but I can’t BELIEVE that he molested a child! It’s like he lying to us or didn’t want to talk about it to the press!

I think it’s important at this stage — where the fact of the case have yet to come to light — to keep a level head. A person is innocent until proven guilty, and a victim’s allegations are true until proven false. As far as the law is concerned, all involved parties are given the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise.
Truthfully I really thought Shane was gay, he just gave vibe.
