Lovin the Glee nods – congrats Lea , Matt and especially Jane!!! Also my all time favorite – HOUSE!! Go Hugh!!
I’m so glad Modern Family made the best comedy list. This show is awesome!
What’s the problem? Come on update the page!
HAHAHA! I second that!
Perhaps the foreign press has not been impressed much by stories of motorcycle bands and teachers dealing with drugs
For the life of me I will never understand why January Jones gets nominated for these things. She’s as boring and bland as a bowl of oatmeal. >.<
She’s excellent on Mad Men.
I hate how the Golden Globes groups together Supporting Actor/Actress to include series, miniseries, made for TV movie, etc. It doesn’t leave enough room for someone fantastic like Christina Hendricks from “Mad Men” to be nominated.
I agree it’s not really fair to all the great supporting cast members in the different genres.
love, love, love Dexter!!! I just wish more people would watch it!! Who knew Michael C. Hall could go from gay funeral parlor owner to HOT serial killer!! what a fantastic actor!!
same nominations different year..do these people ever watch anything else, but the same 3 series??!!
How are there no Modern Family acting noms?
Well I think the problem there is that they are all supporting because it’s an ensemble cast and therefore it would be hard to single one actor out as a standout deserving of a nom. Also as mentioned above by Mary they group all the supporting acting categories together into one nomination. It’s really unfair to the actors.
Anyone REALLY disappointed with the nominations this year?!?! Where’s Mary-Louise Parker for WEEDS? Where’s the love for SONS OF ANARCHY? Where is the love for LOST? I’m sorry but HOUSE and ENTOURAGE are LOOOOOONG past their prime, and 30 ROCK has NEVER been funny!!!
Not true with 30 Rock, it’s one of my favorite shows and many people would disagree with you there. But I do think this season is a let down, same with The Office, in terms of how good I know it can be so they shouldn’t have been nominated. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia should be there in it’s place. One of the funniest shows on tv and never recognized.
I’ll give you SUNNY. That show is amazing. Sweet Dee has been snubbed for YEARS! As for 30 ROCK, I think it’s an industry show that gets love for that reason alone. I’ve seen it many times (room mates watch it) and I think I’ve laughed like 3 times. I just don’t get the hype. Parks & Recs is way funnier than both THE OFFICE and 30 ROCK this year. I mean the gay penguin episode….CLASSIC!
But if your roommates watch it you have to admit then that obviously other people find it funny. But I did admit that this year it has fallen off, same with The Office. I would take Parks & Rec and It’s Always Sunny in the the spaces The Office and 30 Rock took this year. I think that would be fair.
I can live with that! LOL!
Deal! We should start our own awards show!
We totally should! As long as PHILLY, LOST and SONS OF ANARCHY (specifically Katey Sagel) are nominated, I’m all in!
Were the spring BSG episodes eligible? because if so, then it goes to show that the Globe committee really doesn’t care about quality, just numbers
So stupid! Why no Sons of Anarchy??? The best show on TV.
I am glad to see Modern Family get a nod but why no Ed O’Neill for best actor??
If I had my own way I’d have Ty Burrel, Ed O’Neill and Eric Stonestreet from Modern Family…along with Sofia Vergara…all nominated for awards. But that’s the problem with a stellar ensemble cast. You want to nominate everyone! Doesn’t leave much room for anyone else from any other show.
Oh but Julie Bowen is also really good, as is Jesse Tyler Ferguson. And Shelley Long was fantastic in that guest spot she did!
See? This is turning into a problem.
I’m not surprised about Lost. Let’s be honest: who can understand what’s happening but those who watch and rewatch? Lost was nominated in the past and won, when it was still possible to enjoy one episode without having headaches (season 1-masterpiece). Nowadays it’s simply impossible to judge.Period
So I’m guessing after Season 1 you decided not to watch “Lost”. Then one day (probably after hearing how good the series has been after Season 1) you decided to give it another try…without watching previous seasons. Of course, you’re gonna get a headache! That’s your cup of tea. Any sane person knows that you can’t just watch “Lost” as a casual viewer. Period.
I’ve seen season 2: still ok, but i could not stand season 3 or 4: I’m too old, too tired and too good to be engaged in season 5. If I want useful headaches, I read Moby Dick. Which is what I am doing (and enjoying) at the moment!.
No noms for “Friday Night Lights” at all? Not even for Zach Gilford’s amazing performance during this season? Wow.
This isn’t the full list. My favorite Lostie, Michael Emerson was nominated in the supporting actor category:
—Supporting Actor, Series, Miniseries or Movie: Michael Emerson, “Lost”; Neil Patrick Harris, “How I Met Your Mother”; William Hurt, “Damages”; John Lithgow, “Dexter”; Jeremy Piven, “Entourage.”
I wish Lost had been nominated too, but at least this is something. And honestly, the GG’s are a little bit of a sham/shady anyway, so I’m not too worried about the snub.
