Marvel Studios chairman David Maisel will leave his position when Disney’s acquisition of Marvel is complete, Variety reports. Maisel joined Marvel in 2004 as president of the studio and was promoted to chairman in 2007, after helping raise the $525 million that let the company start producing its own films, including the blockbuster Iron Man. Maisel will continue to work as an executive producer on Iron Man 2, Thor, and The First Avenger: Captain America, while also pursuing other opportunities. Marvel’s production president Kevin Geige will now report directly to Walt Disney Studios chairman Rich Ross.
