So this means that NBC will be going away ???? Good – first thing Comcast – DUMP THE LENO SHOW

  • Garrett

This is not good. I can totally see Comcast playing hardball with satellite companies and increasing it’s fees for channels like Bravo, USA, et cetera. Satellite companies will have no choice but to increase their prices or say no to Comcast, and in the end (as always) the customer will get screwed by higher prices or less channels. That is why you should never pay for cable, satellite or movies!

I was wondering if this merger was going to be a conflict of interest. I can’t see good things from this. Also, Comcast has the worst customer service rating, worse than the IRS. Horrible customer service + horrible television network = who knows what.

I agree with Garrett. Comcast having control of content like this will be a big issue for satellites.

Comcast having control – not so bad – customer service – what you expect customer service in this day and age – get real – there is no mega-business in the business of providing customer service.

Comcast is going to fix NBC? I cant see how this ends well.

  • Maybe..

….Leno and SNL will finally be taken off the air.
    We can all rejoice!

    There goes HULU

    • Ryan

Hulu is a joint venture with other companies… it’s not going anywhere. Actually, expect more content if anything.

This will be good if Comcast finally starts to carry the channel Chiller! I’ve been pestering them for ages to do so!

What’s going to happen to 30 Rock? How is Jack going to be Head of Television and Microwave Programming now??

    • Heather

Comcast is only going to be the majority shareholder, GE probably will still own some of it

    • Maybe..

…they’ll thankfully get rid of it, too!

  • ks

Comcast-Dish, are they not BIG rivals, undercutting and playing games with each others customers? I don’t know about this whole merger thing, it can’t be good.

  • Craig

This is not going to be good. Not good at all.

i love how the people post on here, this will not be good at all. then do not elaborate on their statement. they are just rehashing what they have heard from someone else, without knowing anything at all.

  • Yes

One positive – NBC shows are not offered for free on OnDemand. They used to charge for those shows while other networks are on there for free. NBC shows started being free last week. I don’t think that’s by chance…

On the other hand, here are some possible good things to come out of this merger:

Leno will most likely be canceled.

And (aside from NBC’s terrific Thursday night comedy line-up) scripted shows that are worth watching may just be coming back.

So we have that to look forward to.
