Studios prepping 3D 'Zombieland,' 'Jackass' sequels

Tags: ,

Studios are making plans for sequels to Zombieland and Jackass to be filmed in 3D. Variety reports that Sony intends to make use of 3D technology in its follow-up to this summer’s zombie hit, which starred Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg. Paramount already has a start date for a 3D Jackass 3, Johnny Knoxville’s next knucklehead daredevil opus: Jan. 25.

Looking forward to Zombieland, Jackass not so much

Do we really need another jackass movie? However i think a Zombieland sequel would be great.

Yea we need another Jackass. With all the crap in this world right now we need more things to make us laugh. All you have to do is not see it. Plain and simple.

Loved Zombieland and think they can do some cool stuff with the sequel. Still not on the 3D kick but I could see it being used to awesome effect for a zombie movie. Never got into the Jackass stuff – just too gross and stupid for me….and I’m usually a BIG fan of stupid.

Change is Good – Can’t the high paid hollywood types think anymore – or are they too busy – sequels – stupid man’s way to make money – NO to BOTH

Zombieland was a new and fresh idea, and very funny. I’m fine with sequels as long as they are warranted. And something as original as Zombieland deserves one.

I think Zombieland in 3D will be interesting to say the least. Really loved the first one! Why do we need another Jackass? Why?!?!

Would adore a Zombieland sequel for sure!!
    Jackass? I’ll pass.

Boo i think 3D is just an excuse for theaters to charge $20 for a ticket

      Well said!!!!!!

Zombieland is a movie of heart, not spectacle so the 3D thing throws me a bit and Jackass in 3D. I hate the movies but I’m intrigued.

The writing on the wall is here: 2D movies are dead just like “silent movies” and “black and white”. 3D at the movie theatre delivers the special element that you cannot experience at home (yet). I wonder what movie that historians will give the credit for the knock-out blow (like Jazz Singer and Wizard of Oz)? Avatar?

  • Pete

Kim, did you come from the 1950′s? After all, people in the 50′s said the EXACT SAME THING about 3-D. Frankly, I don’t think I should have to wear accessories in order to enjoy a film.

Look, 3D works really well on some films like Avatar and the new Christmas Carol or Coraline. All good movies that used 3D to a greater effect in telling their respective stories (yes, I’ve seen an early rough cut of Avatar in 3D…don’t worry about how!). While movies like Final Destination and My Bloody Valentine are pure crap no matter how many dimensions they’re in!
3D… Works great for some movies and for others, not so much.

OH!, I forgot to mention Up, which I thought was one of the best films I’ve seen in years, really didn’t need to be in 3D! Great movie, 3D was kinda pointless though.

  • cinecritter

    Jackass 3D – fireworks blasting out of Steve-O’s butt… in 3D! I can’t wait!

  • Landon

I’d run through a crowd of zombies while doing dangerous stunts just to see either film.

  • chris

I really hate this 3D craze. I hope people lose interest in it soon.
