Grammy winner and Oscar nominee T-Bone Burnett (O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Cold Mountain, Walk the Line) has signed on as executive music producer and executive producer for TV drama pilot Tough Trade, the first original series for Viacom’s new Epix channel. The show will chronicle the inner workings of a dysfunctional Nashville music dynasty that pins its financial hopes on its black sheep-turned-alternarock god. Sam Shepard will play the family’s patriarch. The project starts shooting Thursday in Nashville.
