'Cougar Town' to resume shooting Nov. 30

After temporarily shutting down production on Cougar Town Nov. 20 so star Courteney Cox could “deal with a private family matter,” ABC has confirmed that the series will be back in production Nov. 30. According to a rep, shooting was halted for only one day prior a scheduled week-long holiday hiatus. Though Cox’s rep still hasn’t elaborated on why the star had to briefly step away from production, she told EW that “[Cox] and her family are doing fine and she will be returning to the set following Cougar Town‘s planned Thanksgiving hiatus.” Actress Busy Philipps also reached out to her co-star’s fans on Twitter: “We’re back shooting after Thanksgiving. I’ll pass along the love for cc!”

Jury convicts Ohio police chief in Sarah Jessica Parker-Matthew Broderick surrogacy case

A police chief in eastern Ohio has been convicted of three felony charges in a break-in at the home of a woman who carried twins for Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, Prosecutors had argued that Chief Barry Carpenter broke into Michelle Ross’ home in May and tried to sell items related to her surrogate pregnancy, including ultrasound pictures and a plaster cast of her belly, to paparazzi. Carpenter, who claimed he saw Ross’ basement door left open while on a routine patrol, was acquitted on charges of burglary but was found guilty of receiving stolen property, theft in office, and tampering with evidence. Carpenter, who could not be reached for immediate comment, will be sentenced Dec. 30 and faces up to 10 years in jail.

Adam Lambert's AMA performance draws 1,500 complaints to ABC

Adam Lambert’s controversial performance on the American Music Awards has received around 1,500 complaints at network ABC, reports USA Today, but the network does not believe that to be an abnormal number. It was also unclear whether the FCC would fine ABC for the act, since it aired out of the agency’s 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. time frame barring obscene content.

Regis Philbin announces leave of absence from 'Live with Regis and Kelly'

Regis Philbin announced today on Live with Regis and Kelly that he will take a leave of absence from the show to recover from hip replacement surgery he’s undergoing Dec. 1. A Regis & Kelly rep tells EW the 78-year-old host plans to return to the show after the four-to-six week recovery period that is standard for this type of medical procedure.

Olivia Thirlby joins 'The No Game'

Olivia Thirlby (Juno, The Wackness) has joined the cast of The No Game, co-starring Marcia Gay Harden (Whip It) and Shoreh Aghdashloo (House of Sand and Fog), set to begin filming in March. Thirlby will play a Jewish woman who discovers that both her parents are Palestinian while on a trip to Israel.

AMAs: Dick Clark Productions responds to edited Adam Lambert performance

Dick Clark Productions is responding to reports that the production company and ABC edited the West Coast airing of Adam Lambert’s controversial performance at the American Music Awards last night. “Due to the live nature of the show we did not expect the impromptu moment in question,” said the company in a statement. Lambert’s original performance included simulated oral sex with a male back-up dancer.

Michael Jackson's glove auctions for $350,000

The white glove that Michael Jackson wore during his Motown 25 performance in 1983 went for a winning bid of $350,000 at a Nov. 21 memorabilia auction in NYC, Reuters reports. This was substantially more than pre-sale price estimates for the iconic accessory, described by the auction house owner as “the Holy Grail of Michael Jackson.” Other big-ticket items included a black zipper jacket worn by Jackson during the Bad tour in 1989, sold for $225,000.

Oprah's Harpo sets up sex-charged series at HBO

Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Films is developing a pilot for an untitled, “sexually charged” HBO series, Variety reports. The hourlong drama would reportedly deal with a woman who leaves her marriage abruptly for a very different lifestyle. Secretary writer Erin Cressida Wilson is penning the pilot.

Joshua Jackson to star in 'UFO'

Joshua Jackson is set to star in UFO, a feature film based on the 1970 British television series. According to Variety, Jackson will star as Paul Foster, “a test pilot who joins S.H.A.D.O. (Supreme Headquarters Alien Defense Organization), a covert org built under a Hollywood studio that defends Earth against a race of aliens who have been abducting humans and using the body parts.”
