People.com is reporting that Jon Gosselin has filed a $5 million claim against TLC, alleging that the network’s representatives damaged his reputation and career by preventing him from working with other media outlets. In the suit (which is a counterclaim against one that TLC filed earlier this year), the erstwhile star of Jon and Kate Plus Eight claims that TLC contacted various media outlets to discourage them from doing business with him. “Their behavior has caused Jon great anguish and it has caused him financial losses,” his attorney, Mark Heller, told People.com. Gosselin’s lawsuit also claims that the network owes him $175,000 for shows that have aired.

Gucci Mane: Album still coming despite jail sentence
A Warner Bros. representative tells EW that Gucci Mane’s The State vs. Radric Davis is still set to arrive as planned on Dec. 8. The prolific rapper was sentenced to 12 months in prison for probation violation yesterday, leading to speculation as to whether the album’s release would be delayed. Gucci’s star has risen this year with a series of popular mixtapes, so anticipation among rap fans for The State vs. Radric Davis, his sophomore full-length, is high.
Daniel Radcliffe's rep denies pot claim
Daniel Radcliffe’s rep is denying allegations of marijuana use by the actor made in the UK newspaper Daily Mirror. The paper displayed a blurry photo taken at a party of Radcliffe smoking what it describes as a “spliff.” His rep countered the charge, releasing a statement to EW: “We categorically deny the allegations regarding Daniel Radcliffe published in today’s Daily Mirror. Daniel does smoke the occasional roll-up cigarette, but he was not doing anything more than this. We are considering our position and will be taking all necessary action in relation to such allegations”
Cindy Crawford targeted in extortion plot
People reports that a 26-year-old German man is being accused of trying to extort $100,000 from Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber over a photograph of their 7-year-old daughter said to have been taken by a former nanny, according to court papers filed Thursday by the FBI and the U.S. attorney’s office. L.A. TV station KTLA says the photo shows the girl, who is now 8, bound to a chair wearing shorts and a T-shirt, according to the court papers. An affidavit filed in the case reportedly states that the girl told her parents the photo was taken as part of a game of cops and robbers. Crawford and her husband said they did not know about the photograph and did not consent to it being taken.
Edis Kayalar, 26, a recent deportee to Germany, threatened to release the photo to the media if he was not paid $100,000. He has been charged with one count of extortion, which carries a prison sentence of up to two years. The nanny has not been charged.
A rep for Crawford released a statement to People: “Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford intend to pursue any and all available legal action against anyone who aids the perpetrator in the distribution or sale of the photograph of their daughter.”
Director Roland Emmerich planning two 'Independence Day' sequels
Director Roland Emmerich told MTV news that he’s planning two sequels to his 1996 blockbuster Independence Day. “What we want to do in the next—it’s actually two movies—we want to do a bigger arc,” he told MTV. “Independence Day was always like the king who leads his troops into battle against an evil force, and that stays like that.” Though there’s no script yet, there is a title he had in mind: ID4-ever. He also said he expected Independence Day star Will Smith will be involved when the time comes.
