Amy Winehouse has been hospitalized in London for the last three days. People.com reports that the 26-year-old singer checked in to the London Clinic on Sunday, reportedly after some over-the-counter cold remedy adversely reacted to some other medication in her system.

Justin Theroux to write draft of 'Space Invader'
Justin Theroux is on board to write a draft of astronaut romantic comedy Space Invader, which is set up at Fox. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Will Arnett is attached to star as a man who goes into space after he suspects his astronaut girlfriend is cheating on him. Theroux could potentially direct as well. As EW’s Michael Ausiello reported earlier this week, Theroux is also set to join Parks and Recreation in a major role.
Jason Lee to star in 'Delta Blues' and skateboarding comedy
Jason Lee of My Name Is Earl fame is headed back to TV as the lead in TNT’s pilot Delta Blues, according to The Hollywood Reporter. George Clooney is executive producing that project about a police officer/Elvis impersonator. Also, Lee is working with Adult Swim on a new live-action comedy about skateboarders and he will direct indie film Get Back, about two music obsessed friends who time travel to 1966 London.
Lee Daniels in talks to direct 'Selma'
Precious director Lee Daniels is in advanced negotiations to direct civil rights story Selma, Variety reports. Producer Christian Colson (Slumdog Millionaire) is planning the project about the historic 1965 march in the Alabama town. Brad Pitt’s Plan B is one of the co-producers of the film. Paul Webb wrote the script. Selma is set to shoot by early spring 2010, although no cast is attached yet.
Gretchen Mol to play showgirl in 'Boardwalk Empire'
Gretchen Mol has joined HBO’s drama series Boardwalk Empire in a recurring role, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Martin Scorsese is executive producing the project, set in 1920s Atlantic City. Steve Buscemi stars as a politician and gangster; Mol will play a showgirl. In other HBO news, Sarah Burns will co-star with Laura Dern in Mike White’s comedy pilot.
Jennifer Hudson to play Winnie Mandela in film
Variety reports that Jennifer Hudson is set to star as Winnie Mandela in drama Winnie. The film about the former wife of South Africa’s first black president Nelson Mandela will start shooting May 30 in South Africa. Darrell J. Roodt (Cry, The Beloved Country) will direct. The filmmakers said they will tell the good and bad of Winnie Mandela’s life, including her support during Nelson’s imprisonment but also later conviction for fraud. Hudson told Variety: “Winnie Mandela is a complex and extraordinary woman and I’m honored to be the actress asked to portray her. This is a powerful part of history that should be told.” She is also expected to sing the film’s theme song.
Eric Dane joins cast of 'Burlesque'
Eric Dane (McSteamy of Grey’s Anatomy) has joined the musical drama Burlesque, according to The Hollywood Reporter. As previously reported, the film stars Christina Aguilera, Cher, Stanley Tucci, Cam Gigandet, Kristen Bell and Alan Cumming in the story of a girl who finds success at a new-burlesque club in Los Angeles. Dane will play a businessman who offers to buy the club from Cher and falls for Aguilera’s character. The film started shooting last week.
Antoine Fuqua, Spike Lee eye 'Crime'
Antoine Fuqua will direct a big-screen version of graphic novel Miss: Better Living Through Crime, Variety reports. Spike Lee will executive produce the project. The story is about two unlikely partners in crime in 1900s New York.
Ryan O'Neal says he's 'perfectly happy' with Farrah Fawcett's will
Farrah Fawcett, who died last June, left $4.5 million for her son, Redmond Fawcett O’Neal, but apparently left nothing for her ex-husband and Redmond’s father, actor Ryan O’Neal, according to a report concerning the contents of the late actress’ will. O’Neal’s publicist this afternoon released this statement from the actor: “Farrah’s and my relationship was based on a deep love and respect for one another and for our son Redmond. After discussing how her financial affairs would be handled in the event of her passing we agreed that our son Redmond would be the primary beneficiary of her estate. These were Farrah’s wishes and I am perfectly happy with them. I sincerely hope that everyone will remember and celebrate the legacy that Farrah left behind, and will now let her rest in peace.”
