A Swiss court has approved a $4.5 million bail request from imprisoned director Roman Polanski. The Associated Press reports that if Polanski is released, he would remain in Switzerland under house arrest and electronic surveillance. However, Swiss authorities will keep the Oscar winner in jail until they decide whether to appeal his release to a higher court. They have 10 days to make a decision.

What’s the matter with the Swiss? The man drugged and raped a 13-year old girl and has never paid his debt to society. I hope he spends the rest of his life in jail.
what? does he cough up the full amount or is it 50%? I hope he posts the total amount and flees so he can lose those bucks! Can we still tar and feather people and hang them on a pole to rot anymore??
Stupid move. He’ll run, no matter how much money he’ll lose. Money once again will let him escape punishment for his crime.
