I’m a little late on this discussion, but I can’t get over the whole “I’m so offended by this” response some parents are giving. I’m amazed at the “horror” they seem to have experienced. I can understand that they dislike the performance, but it’s hardly something “outrageous” nowadays. Ultimately, a night time show is a night time show. Whether or not parents let their kids or even teens watch tv past a certain hour is hardly Adam Lambert’s problem. He did what he did, had a good time, and has since moved on. PTC and followers, feel free to waste as much of your time as you wish complaining.
The point isn’t about parents watching their kids although it is very important. The point is whether it is OK to have porn flowing into your living room. I saw AL song and it was the sickest thing I have ever seen in my life- I had to turn my head. His voice sounded like CRAP because he was so intent on putting on this vulgar show. He now reminds me of the worst kind of PERVERT, The kind that molests boys behind closed doors. TV stations have a standard of decency to uphold and they have a responsibility to the viewing public, kids and adults alike. That does include Viagra and similar commercials too. Well AL is getting his publicity but I wouldn’t buy his music now if I won the million $ lottery. I do hope he fails because he needs to know we live in a civilized society and what pervs do in their bedroom should stay there.
Janie, please don’t talk stupid. Your reference to pervert and associated molestation is a very inappropriate and, honestly, hatefilled thing to say. I teach sexual abuse prevention. It’s nothing to talk about lightly. And there is no correlation between sexually provocative preformances as on the AMAs (all the performers) and molestation. Shame on you for saying this. That comment was beyond bad. State your beliefs but you don’t have to be hateful. So sad. Very sad for you.

There is no doubt in my mind that Adam Lambert is a gifted musical talent. His disgustingly lewd and vulgar performance was jaw-dropping. I am embarrassed for him and the negative light this casts upon him and his family. I really hope this is not “the future” for music and television in America. We don’t have to put up with this. Hit him in the… wallet. I hope his CD sales plummet. Perhaps then he will get the message.

I teach educators of Preschool through Grade 8 students and the most common thing they say is that parents are not involved, that they don’t take responsibility and are unaware of what is going on in the lives of their children. Responsibility has to begin at home, guiding your children, offering structure and appropriate consequences for inappropriate actions. So, tell me, what responsible parent would allow their child to watch 1 hour and 55 minutes of adult content crotch groping, rape referencing, whiskey bottle breaking before Adam Lambert ever came on the stage. It seems like you parents had 1 hour and 55 minutes to pick up the remote control and turn off the TV. What’s the matter? Couldn’t find the remote? Then another option would have been to get up, walk across the room and press the off button. That most likely would not have taken more that 1 minute of that 1 hour and 55 minutes. I think you had enough time.
Parents – monitor your kids/teens better. They’re probably watching soaps too – now those are inappropriate!

I suppose that’s mostly due to hundreds of years of slavery in the past and PRESENT. Your kids see far worse in real life than what A.L. did on his show. Gee, I guess they have no problem with the Cialis, Viagra, and birth control pill commercials that air constantly on TV, and the YAZ pill commercials that constantly get advertised on tv that cause life threatening health problems, that you can now SUE the drug companies for. And I guess they have no problem with girls kissing and groping each other on the soft porn DVDs advertised under the name of “Girls Gone Wild”, and “Boys Gone Wild.” Yes call 976-GET GIRL, but don’t look at Adam’s performance. Look with earnest at Madonna and Britney deep tongue kissing, or Madonna grabbing her crotch or Billy Idol humping the stage, but don’t look at what A.L. did on the AMA’s What a bunch of flaming hypocrites.
Gee and the networks and PTC have no problem with simulated motion picture images of Conan O Brien’s drummer having simulated anal sex with himself or frottage sex, or showing commercials of Trojan’s new clitoris stimulator especially designed for women, instead of just condoms that men can wear. LOL! Hypocrites
I didn’t see the actual performance, but it sounds like this was totally inappropriate for broadcast network TV. If it had been cable, it would not be quite as bad, because people pay for it (whereas anyone, any age, can turn on and watch network TV). Still, it sounds like Adam is going the Madonna route–being shocking and vulgar just so he can sell CDs.
Knowing how much those Parent Trash Cult pedophiles lie about just about everything in their zeal to force America into a theological dictatorship, especially since they had to pay Vince McMahon settle a lawsuit filed against them, I wonder how many of those brain-dead idiots actually saw Lambert’s performance. If you didn’t see it, you have no room or right to complain. I didn’t see it since I was watching Philadelphia-Chicago, but unlike these anti-American pieces of trash, I’ll defend his right to perform how he wants.
