DreamWorks has greenlit the robot story Real Steel, with Hugh Jackman attached to star. Variety reports that Shawn Levy will direct the futuristic story based on a short story by Richard Matheson. The plot follows a fighter who has to reinvent himself when human boxers are replaced by robots. Jackman plays a robot boxing promoter who discovers he has an 11-year-old son. The pic’s budget will be about $80 million, Variety reports.
