Mark your calendars, Idoloonies! American Idol’s ninth season premiere will be a two-night extravaganza on Tuesday, Jan. 12 (8-10 p.m. EDT) and Wednesday, Jan. 13 (8-9 p.m. EDT), Fox announced this evening via press release. What’s the reason you’ll only be getting a half-sized portion of Simon, Randy, Kara, and a guest judge on Day Two of season 9? The series premiere of Our Little Geniuses, a quiz show where brilliant tykes will tackle challenging questions while your brain turns to mush from the comfort of your living-room couch.

MF-ER! Fox, when will you learn? You + weird reality shows = rating disaster! 5th Grader? The Osbourne show (name lost to history)? The Moment of Truth? Bad Fox, bad!
fire up the predictify Slezak, we are all coming back!
Woot woot!!!
the real question is when will we be seeing the infamous Avrett/Slezak/Baldwin production known as Idolatry?
I would assume it would be the weekend Idol comes on.
Michael, just saw your tweet. Interview with Adam tomorrow — congrats! Looking forward to discussion of his album.
Also, when is Idolatry coming back? Can we expect a preview episode in early Jan.? Hope so!!!
the first idolatry better premier jan 15th!
please!!!
Faboo! New Idol means new Idolatry! I can’t wait!
Not tuning in any longer!
When Paula left, I left. I now can focus on Lost.
This season took too much out of me. I’m done with it.
I feel like I didn’t even get a break on this website! Sigh…I remember when Slezak used to post about other topics too
Fatima, although I can (somewhat)feel your pain that there’s no break between May and January re AI-related material…at least Slezak does get around to feeding us other stuff – now and again: Check out Realite…you won’t be sorry.
I love Slezak and Realite. I just remember a time before 2007 when his funny point of view translated to a LOT more subjects. Those were the days.
AI will start to suffer the ratings slide from that very first broadcast and I hope it tanks bigtime.
I’m just shocked that Slezak was able to write something about AI without finding another reason to write about how much he dislikes Danny Gokey. Perhaps his Gokey crush has dissipated somewhat.
OK then, I’ll write it Gokey stinks.
Slezak, I’ll miss you and Idolatry and predictify this year. I’m detoxing from all things Idol. Kara and Ellen? Bleh. I’ll pass. Since Lythgoe left it’s slipped in the toilet.
I don’t get the love for Paula at all. She brought nothing to the show. Anyways, chalk me up as another who can’t wait for Idolatry to start back up. Kristen Baldwin cracks me up.
I will be tuning in for Idolatry, but I fell in love with NCIS over the summer which now takes my top viewing spot. Now, had they made Michael Slezak the fourth judge things may have been different, but alas.
