FX has acquired the TV rights to the four Twilight movies in a deal with Summit Entertainment, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Under the deal, FX will start running the first Twilight installment in late 2011 and then follow with New Moon in late 2012 and Eclipse in early 2013. Showtime made a pact with Summit last year for the rights to first air the Twilight films on pay cable.

oh jeez, i thought at first that they were making a tv show…..
Me too, I was about to scream, lol
Right man that would be way over my capacity for Twilight (I know for many went over a long time ago)which is at its boiling point!
LOL That is exactly what I thought too. The books and movies I can handle, a tv show too? Not so much.
So did I, thought that would be Cheesy!
OMG from the headline, I thought you guys meant a Twilight TV show. PHEW!!
I’m more interested in the fact that the deal is for the “four Twilight movies”!! Does this mean that Summit will soon green-light Breaking Dawn?
Pattinson mentioned shooting Breaking Dawn in fall 2010 a couple of weeks ago, so it’s definitely green-lit. I’m actually relieved that the FX deal is for four movies, because it seems to suggest that the abomination that is Breaking Dawn won’t be split.
Aggh, I’m glad it’s not getting split too, that would just be overkill. And not to mention a bad bad bad idea. I’m not expecting it to be able to keep any audiences for more than a weekend but I doubt they’d come back for more. Imagine if the book was spilt in two and the first part ended with you know what arriving. Doubt people would stick around.
by then no one will give
i was sure MTV (Viacom) was going to fight long and hard to have it on their channel with all the coverage they give it. i always thought FX was more of a man’s network, almost like Spike tv, but i guess not now.
When is it coming to pay cable, or was it shown already?
oh im sure summit’s going to green-light breaking dawn no matter what. this is too big a franchise to give up.
I can only imagine how long they will make it whenever they do go to air them though with all the commercial breaks. I’m guessing a 3 hour minimum on each film, maybe 3 1/2. Either way, something entirely ridiculous.
I hate watching movies on FX! They had Spiderman 2 on for three and a half hours! I can’t stand those DVD special shows. Just play the movie!
lol… i can’t imagine the point in bothered with this. everyone who wanted to see the films already watched them in theaters, and will buy them on dvd/blue ray.
SHO sucks. Twilight might not air until next summer.
