Sam Shepard joins Epix's 'Tough Trade'

Premium cable channel Epix has cast Sam Shepard in its first original pilot Tough Trade, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Trade will be a one-hour drama about the Tucker family of which Shepard will play the patriarch. The family is a Nashville music dynasty that has troubles with drinking, debauchery, and divorce—things which have led them to be morally corrupt and bankrupt. Filming beings Dec. 3, and Epix is shooting for a 2010 premiere.
