NBC has greenlit a pilot for a new culinary competition reality show. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the prize will be among the biggest in reality TV history, with the winner launching his or her own chain of restaurants — four outlets would open the week of the show’s finale. The tentatively titled United Plates of America is from Top Chef producers Magical Elves. Contestants will have to impress investors from the cooking and business worlds with their restaurant concepts, menus, and management skills.
